Slimline Pansy Petals Suite Card

 I haven't made a slimline card in awhile and I was looking to use some of the fabulous Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper. Some of it is so intense that it doesn't work on a smaller card, but the larger 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" dimensions of a slimline card seem to be the right proportion for the intensity of design.

I'm actually using the sketch of the last Freshly Made Sketches challenge, but of course I didn't get this posted in time for the deadline, needing to post my Monday Morning Live project instead. But I really like the simplicity and classic lines so thought I'd use it anyway.

Here's a closer look at my design:

• Centered in the 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" Thick Basic White card front is a 7 3/4" x 2 3/4" piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock and centered on that is a 7 1/2" x 2 1/2" piece of Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper.
• Across the bottom about a 1/2" from the bottom is a piece of Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon.
• The die cut pansies are made using the Pansy Dies from Thick Basic White, Pale Papaya, Fresh Freesia and Bumblebee cardstock. The leaves are from Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen.
• The sentiment is from the Ornate Thanks stamp set and stamped in Evening Evergreen on Basic White cardstock. It's trimmed on either side of the sentiment and the ends are punched with the Lovely Labels Pick-a-Punch.

June's Paper Pumpkin Kit looks amazing! I can hardly wait to get it! It coordinates with the Expressions in Ink Suite, and since that Specialty Designer Series Paper in not even orderable right now because it's so backordered, if you get this kit at least you'll be able to get some materials that are along the same lines! But to get it, you have to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin by June 10, and the way the Expressions in Ink went on backorder so fast, I'm thinking the sooner you subscribe, the better! Pansy Patch Bundle with Corner Flip Fun Fold for New At SU Blog Hop

                           

Welcome to our May NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who are Hoppin’ with creative paper crafting ideas to share with you. Today we are showcasing the 2021/23 New In Colours and some Fun Folds! I am going to share with you Pale Papaya with a splash of Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent and I will show you the Corner Flip Fun Fold. I'll be using the new Pansy Patch Bundle!

• To do this Corner Flip fold, you first need to glue on your Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper background to the card base. Then you will make two cuts on your Paper Trimmer: 1. with the left edge of the long side of the card base at the 3" line, cut from 2 1/2" to 4 7/8", using the ruler on the blade guide to help you  and 2. after turning the card base 90 degrees clockwise, align the long side with the 3" mark, and cut from 3" to 5/8", again using the ruler on the blade guide to help you.

• Push the bottom corner of the V you've created toward the back and pull the top corner down to the bottom left and you will have the Corner Flip Fun Fold. Secure it with a glue dot. To see a video tutorial on how to do this, click HERE.

• Decorate the inside, which shows through with a piece of Calypso Coral, 5 1/4" x 4" and a piece of Basic White 5" x 3 3/4".
• Using the Stitched So Sweetly scalloped rectangle dies I die cut a square that fit the 3" square formed by the flipped corner by die cutting the rectangle and then turning the die 90 degrees and die cutting again. I cut a 2 1/2" square of Basic White to fit inside it. 
• The sentiment, from Celebrate Sunflowers, is stamped in Pale Papaya on Basic White and die cut with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. The Calypso Coral backing is one of the Stitched So Sweetly Scalloped Rectangle dies manipulated to make longer.
• The pansies are die cut with the Pansy Dies from Calypso Coral, Pale Papaya, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen.

Thank You Card with Pansy Dies

While I'm waiting for my second round of the new 2021/22 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue Pre-Order products to arrive, I'm kind of limited to the *Pansy Petals Suite and the new In Colours. I've created a stamp and die cut card and a plain stamped and fussy cut card. This time I've used just the *Pansy Dies along with a sentiment from the *Pansy Patch stamp set. It was a lot of fun and, I must admit, the *Pansy Dies create striking images.

• The card base is *Fresh Freesia cardstock, one of the new In Colours and the gingham design patterned paper on top of that is from the *Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper is also *Fresh Freesia.
• The layered image created by the dies which not only cut but also emboss, are so striking and pansy-like! The flowers and leaves are mounted on a *Soft Succulent panel die cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. The sentiment panel is die cut using the same die set.
• The sentiment, from the *Pansy Patch stamp set, is stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink.
• The cardstock colours used for the images are *Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, *Soft Succulent, *Evening Evergreen and Daffodil Delight.
• *3/8" Open Weave Ribbon in *Soft Succulent is used as an embellishment.
