Fine Art Floral Gilded Leafing Embellishment

fine art floral gilded leafing embellishment 1

I've had the Gilded Leafing Embellishment for a long time now, but I've been a little reluctant to use it, due to lack of time around Christmas and lack of experience with it, but today I decided it was time to embrace that learning curve and get to know how to use it.

It is amazingly light stuff, just a puff of air will send it flying, so I'm going to find a larger, deeper container to store it in. You need Heat & Stick Powder or any other kind of sticky surface to adhere it to, such as Tear & Tape or our Seal or Adhesive sheets. I'm planning to use it when I do my Facebook Live Presentation on Monday at 11 am PST.

Here's a closer look at that gilding:

  • I started with a Basic Black card base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4". I cut a piece of Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper to 4" x 5 1/4" and ran it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder, which enhances the texture of the paint strokes on the design.
  • I stamped the large floral bloom base in Pretty Peacock on Basic White. Then I stamped the second step stamp image in Versamark Ink and added the Heat & Stick Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool until it just becomes melted and sticky. (The minute it "disappears".)
  • I added pieces of the gold leaf to the flower and press them into the Heat & Stick powder. Then I used a soft toothbrush to rub off the excess.
  • I stamped the leaves and the sentiment (both from the same Art Gallery stamp set) in Just Jade ink and die cut them using the coordinating Floral Gallery Dies.
  • Using the Layering Oval dies, the largest plain oval was die cut from Basic White and a loop of Fine Art Ribbon adhered to the back using Stampin' Seal+. This was added to the card front.
  • The leaves were glued to the oval and the large gilded bloom was added using Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment was added with Mini Dimensionals. The final touch was some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.

Art Gallery Bundle Sneak Peek

A week ago, after OnStage@Home, those of us who attended were able to purchase from a small selection of new products from the up coming 2021 (oh my goodness, I can't believe how good it feels to type that!!) Jan/Jun Mini Catalogue, and my small order arrived on Friday afternoon. So I was able to play a little bit on the weekend with some new products.  I decided to start with the *Art Gallery Bundle, which consists of the *Art Gallery Photopolymer Stamp Set and *Floral Gallery Dies. I also dug into my pack of *Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper.

*These products are from the upcoming 2021 Jan/June Mini Catalogue and will be available to order until Jan. 5, 2021.

I came up with a birthday card with a two-step stamped image and a half die cut/half stamped sentiment. Take a closer look at all these scrumptious new products in action:

  • On the Terracotta Tile card base, I use a piece of the *Fine Art Floral DSP for a background that looks like a gessoed canvas, ready for painting. I have a new 3D embossing folder that gives a relief look like that to cardstock, but this time I went with the variation in colouring that you also get with the DSP.
  • On some Whisper White, I stamped the leaves in Pretty Peacock and die cut them with the *Floral Gallery Dies.
  • For the flower, I used 2 step stamping with the base being Poppy Parade and the overlay being in Terracotta Tile. It worked out quite well, but it was a little difficult deciding where to exactly place the overlay stamp. The bloom was also die cut with the *Floral Gallery Dies.
  • The first part of the sentiment was die cut from Poppy Parade cardstock, while the second part was stamped on Whisper White cardstock with Pretty Peacock and it was die cut with a die from the same die set.
  • I used liquid glue to glue the leaf section down to the card front then the bloom, positioning it where appropriate. Then the die cut sentiment is arranged and glued down with tiny dots of Liquid Glue.

  • Using the Terracotta Tile 1/2" Scalloped Linen Ribbon from the Annual Catalogue as a background, the banner with the Pretty Peacock sentiment was added to the card front on top of the ribbon on the bottom right.
  • The final touch is the addition of some Artistry Bloom sequins from the Annual Catalogue.
*These products are from the upcoming 2021 Jan/June Mini Catalogue and will be available to order until Jan. 5, 2021.

Watch me do an "unboxing" Facebook Live later this morning at 11 am PST to see more of my order.
