Today is a very eventful day! Not only is it the day all of us who are Stampin' Up! Demonstrators get to see the new 2021/22 Annual Catalogue and share with you the retiring list from the old Annual Catalogue, but it happens to be my dear hubby's birthday! He just happens to be an ocean lover like me, so forgive me if I couldn't resist doing a masculine card with a combination of the Sailing Home stamp set and the Friends are Like Seashells stamp set! It's perfect for him.
And to up the masculine factor, I used paper from the World of Good Designer Series Paper, some of which has a bit of a nautical flavour as well.
- On a Soft Suede card base, I used some World of Good DSP that I ran through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine using the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. I distressed the edges and sponged with some Soft Suede.
- I added two strips of the same pack of DSP with different patterns. The Misty Moonlight one adds a nautical flavour. I also die cut some seaweed out of a scrap piece of Fine Art Floral.
- I stamped several images from both Sailing Home and Friends are Like Seashells stamp sets on Very Vanilla cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them in using various sets of Stampin' Blends Combos including Misty Moonlight, Pool Party and Crumb Cake.
- I added a piece of Braided Linen Trim, knotted and frayed and woven among the different elements using glue dots to stick it down.
- I die cut the images using the coordinating Smooth Sailing and Seaside Seashells Dies. I sponged the edges in Soft Suede and arranged them on the card front using Glue Dots and Stampin' Dimensionals.
- The sentiment is from the Happy Thoughts stamp set, die cut with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies.
