My Top Ten Picks from the 2018 Holiday Catalogue

As promised, today I am going to share with you my Top Ten Products from the 2018 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue! There are so many good ones that I had a severely difficult time narrowing it down to just 10 things, so I know any help I can be in helping you to pare down your wish lists a bit will be welcome. Just a reminder that these picks are only my opinion and in no way reflect on Stampin! Up!'s judgement. If you like what I regularly produce on my blog, then you will probably concur with my taste in these 10 picks. If not, then I suggest that you look for a Stampin' Up! blogger whose work more closely reflects your own sense of style, and see what they recommend.

So without further ado, here are my Top Ten:

10. Best Designer Series Paper (Regular) - Festive Farmhouse DSP

This DSP has it all: Christmas colours, plaids, snowflakes, wood textures, scripts, stripes! Perfect weight for making containers, but not too thick for cards!

9. Best Specialty Designer Series Paper - Joyous Noel DSP

Elegant and rich looking designs with copper foil accents on one side. These papers will really step up your card-making a notch this holiday season! The colours are warm and sophisticated, while still falling in the neutral category for the most part.

8. Best Embossing Folder - Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

Tin tile ceilings or backsplashes are certainly on trend right now, and with this embossing folder you can add several tiles of this design to the background of your card. Use it with the Galvanized Metallic Sheet for maximum effect.

7. Best Background Stamp - Buffalo Check background stamp

This wonderful background stamp is not only going to take advantage of the Buffalo check craze in winter clothing, but will also be great for gingham designs in spring and summer. Versatile and very on trend.

6.  Best Punch - Sprig Punch

This great punch is going to be sooo useful all year round! I love versatility! It creates longer, larger twigs that are the perfect size to peek out from behind labels and small circular layers on your cards.

5. Best New Tool - Take Your Pick Tool

With a refillable putty end for picking up small pieces of paper or sequins, a spatula like end for loosening glued on pieces, to a removable end with different  tools available to use, this versatile tool can help you with many tasks that used to be impossible due the lack of a specialized tool for the purpose. It can help with paper piecing, or piercing, whichever you like doing and the smaller piercing tool is also great for picking up rhinestones and pearls from their backing to place on your project.

4. Best Sentiment Bundle - Merry Christmas to All

This great stamp and framelit set has a versatile set of holiday greetings in stamps AND in thinlits! Plus it has some great frames for any kind of small sentiments, and some elegant flourish images to stamp.

3. Best Stamp Bundle - Dashing Deer

How many of you remember an old favourite SU stamp image known as Dasher? It was so popular, that I'm sure Stampin' Up! is trying to recapture some of it's charm in this new stamp set, Dashing Deer, but this time there are great thinlits to go along with it! Those antlers are sooo elegant!

2. Most Versatile Bundle - Winter Woods

Why is this the most versatile bundle? Well, after the holidays are over, it will still make great images of trees for the rest of the year, whenever forest scenes are needed. Not only that, but it coordinates so nicely with the Rooted in Nature bundle in the Annual Catalogue along with the old favourite, Lovely as a Tree! There will be no limit to the beautiful forest scenes you can create!

1. Most Beautiful Suite of Products - Frosted Floral Suite

First Frost Bundle

      Frosted Floral Specialty DSP

Iridescent Boxwood
Wreaths Embellishments

Tranquil Tide 1/4" Velvet Ribbon

 Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets

These are all some of the most beautiful designs in the Catalogue from my point of view. The Specialty DSP in this suite, contains a subtle but exotic kind of glow about it, which enhances the beauty of the paper.  This is enhanced by the Iridescent boxwood embellishments and the beauty of that Tranquil Tide velvet ribbon. The stamp set itself gives images that create a beautiful water colour look and there are framelits that match! The final piece of embellishment that is included in this suite is some Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets, which add some great final detail to the photo.
