There's a beautiful colour challenge on at The Paper Players this week and I'm so excited to enter as it's been a long while since I've had the time and/or the opportunity to enter one of my favourite challenges. Here is their banner:
I've chosen Copper as my fourth colour and a fall leaves theme. I'm using the Rooted in Nature stamp set from the Annual Catalogue, one of my favourite sets. And the colour combination is one that comes from the Nature's Poem DSP that is part of that suite! Here's how mine turned out:
- I started with a watercolour wash of Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron on some Shimmery White cardstock and added some metallic copper splatters that were heat embossed. I used the splatter stamp from the Timeless Textures stamp set.
- I stamped the tree cross section image in Crumb Cake and added the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss. Both images are from the Rooted in Nature stamp set . The tree cross section has to be hand cut as there is no coordinating die for that one shape. The other leaves that you see have been stamped once in an ink that coordinates with this challenge and once in Versamark and heat embossed with Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder. These can be all die cut with dies from the Nature's Roots framelits.
- I punched some sprigs of vellum with the Sprig punch (Holiday catalogue). Have I mentioned how much I love that punch!! It's a game changer for layering!
- The last maple leaf you see is a thinlit from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. It's been die cut from a Copper Foil sheet.
- These are all layered on to the card front along with some Copper Metallic Thread.
