I had to take a little time away from my urgent prep for my catalogue launch on Saturday to complete my design team sample for this week's As You See It Challenge. This time it is a Colour Challenge entitled Coolness and you'll see why here:
I love shades of blues, greens and teals together, so it was very appealing to me from the start, but what was really great was that I have been dying for a long time to use the Sea of Textures bundle again before the warm weather leaves us altogether, and this was the perfect opportunity for an underwater montage!
While I was at it, I thought I would use the layout from the sketch at this week's Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.
Here's a close up of the outcome:
- I sponged a background since I have no DSP in the correct colours for the challenge and added both stamped and embossed texture, using texture images in the Sea of Textures stamp set and the Seaside embossing folder.
- I also added some of the texture images to the Whisper White panel in front, adding a little water with an Aqua Painter to blur them and make them watery looking. Then I layered some die cuts from the Under the Sea Framelits along with the stamped and die cut octopus from the Sea of Textures.
- The sentiment is from the same stamp set, die cut with the frame from the Merry Christmas Thinlits. I thought the Lemon Lime Twist Mini Ruffled Ribbon was perfect for this card because it reminds me of certain kinds of seaweed. I added a few of the Tranquil Textures Sprinkles at the bottom and for the Octopus' eyes.

This is glorious, Heather. I love it. You know, I've resisted this set... it pulled at me from the very beginning and I keep on resisting... but you make it jolly difficult to keep doing so!
