Perfect Peacock for Colour Throwdown

-

When I saw this week's challenge from the folks at Colour Throwdown, the first thought that crossed my mind was, "This would be perfect for the peacock!"  Perfect Peacock is one of my newest stamps and it hadn't even seen ink yet but these colours were made for this stamp.

  • I also thought about using my Stampin' Blendabilities to add some colour.  I wasn't sure if Stampin' Up!'s Classic ink pads would work with the Blendabilities, but I can confirm that they do after this little trial.  I stamped the beautiful image in Bermuda Bay and used the Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight and the darker Coastal Cabana alcohol-based markers to add the accents you see here and the image didn't run or muddy the picture at all.
  • The DSP you see on the back panel is a micro-polka dot print in Daffodil Delight from the Park Lane Designer Series Paper.
  • I made rolled flowers to accent the image by punching 7/8" Scallop Circles and cutting them into spirals and rolling them, then securing the flowers with a glue dot.
  • The sentiment is from a new set that I absolutely love!  It's has a sentiment for almost every occasion.  It's called And Many More... and it's the new Teeny Tiny Wishes!  I altered the Modern Label Punch shape by inserting a 1/2" strip of Rich Razzleberry in the Modern Label punch and centering it because it is narrower than the punch opening.  It creates a shape that's less flared on the ends, but still fits the Word Window Punch piece with the sentiment already stamped.
