Bright and Beautiful for As You See It Challenges

I know it is too early to be thinking about Christmas under normal circumstances, but in the papercrafting world we are already designing and working on our Christmas cards.  It takes a while to make enough cards for all our friends and family.  So when I saw the As You See It Challenge today, I thought Christmas right away and then immediately after that, the Bright and Beautiful Stamp set.
Here's the Challenge #054 sketch:

This was my first design using this two case stamp set and I was thinking something neutral combined with shiny and with red.  It has been ages since I've used my Early Espresso embossing powder so I fished that out of the cupboard, got down the Cherry Cobbler Linen Ribbon (in the Holiday Catalogue), and my Gold Foil Sheets.  Here's what happened:

  • I used the middle-sized star from the Bright and Beautiful set and inked it up in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it using Early Espresso embossing powder.  I love how shiny it is.
  • There are coordinating framelits for this set - the Stars Framelits and you can bundle the stamp set with the framelits and save 15%!  I used the next size up framelit to die cut the larger star from a Gold Foil Sheet.
  • The sentiment is also from the Bright and Beautiful set, stamped in Early Espresso ink. The Cherry Cobbler Sheer Linen is new in the Holiday Catalogue and it give that splash of colour to the neutral palette.
  • I love the little gold buttons from the Holiday catalogue and the Gold Baker's Twine for a little more shine on the project.
This card will be one of the four designs featured at my Christmas Stamper's Dozen on Monday, September 29.  It is almost full right now, with only 2 spots left, so sign up here right away if you are interested.
