My Top Ten Products from the 2016 Holiday Catalog

Now that you are able to order from the 2016 Holiday Catalogue you might have noticed that there is an incredible amount of amazing products to choose from in those pages! How do you choose? Or keep from going broke?

Well, I can offer you my humble opinion, after having had a month to look, test and try. While I haven't been able to try everything on this list, I have experienced products like them in the past and so I can offer you fairly knowledgeable guidance. Keep in mind however, that any list like this is subject, in large measure, to taste. If you generally find yourself liking my style and designs, then you will probably like my choices here. If my designs are not to your taste, you might get better guidance from someone whose projects you find more pleasing. With that disclaimer then, and without further ado, here are my Top Ten Products from the 2016 Holiday Catalogue!

1. Best Designer Series Paper - Candy Cane Lane

Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper
The warmth of Crumb Cake and Real Red together with highlights of Whisper White and Early Espresso for definition creates a very seasonal looking designer paper! Some of the images are just perfect for fussy cutting and using on your cards as is! Bonus!

2. Best Specialty Designer Series Paper - Fancy Frost

Fancy Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper

This one is super hard to see because it is white-on-white textured designs that you can add colour to make it any shade you like. Check out the samples on pages 36 and 37 in the Holiday Catalogue to see. The designs are really lovely, especially in the pastel pinks and purples and silvers shown in the Fancy Frost suite samples.

3. Best Bundle - Cookie Cutter Christmas

Cookie Cutter Christmas Photopolymer Bundle

There are so many bundles in the Holiday catalogue and all of them are amazing so it was super hard to pick just one. I chose this one because it is the easiest to use and you don't have to have a Big Shot. Not only that but there are actually TWO stamp sets that you can use with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. Just add on the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set for more versatility! And they're all so cute! And you can turn it upside down and make a reindeer!! Need I say more!

4. Best Decor Bundle - Sweet Home Bundle

Sweet Home Photopolymer Bundle

How cute are these little homes you can put together? Gingerbread houses! Haunted houses! Housewarming houses! Dog houses! I've seen them used for school house pencil boxes! The possibilities are endless!

5. Best Die Set - Pretty Pines Thinlit Dies

Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies

Last Friday, I told you these were my favourite bundle. When I thought it over, I really meant my favourite dies in the new Holiday catalogue. I like the stamp set, but it's the dies that are to "die" for! I love the texture and layering that you can do with the Pretty Pine Thinlits. Google them and see what everyone is doing with them.

6. Best Sentiment Stamp Set - Star of Light

Star of Light Photopolymer Stamp Set

At first I thought these were largely more religious sentiments, but when I took a second look, I realized that they could be used for either religious Christmas cards or more secular greetings. Either way, the sentiments are embellished with these great star designs which could also be snowflakes and that wonderful swirl of snow or stardust - take your pick!

7. Best Embossing Folder - Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder

Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

I love a new product and this is a fairly new one in the crafting world. It's a Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It's a whole lot thicker than a normal one and it makes a deep 3D-like impression in your paper! It looks just like a cable knit sweater.

8. Best Kit - Tin of Tags Kit

Tin of Tags Project Kit

Remember the Tin of Cards Kit from a couple of years ago? Think smaller and fill it with tags and you've got the perfect kit for making your Christmas wrapping personal and creative or a perfect gift for someone who would like something like that. You do need to add a stamp set with it, but that stamp set, Tin of Tags, is one that I was going to pick as the best sentiment stamp set, so it's well worth the extra money to have. (pg. 33)

 9. Best Ribbon - 3/8" Glitter Ribbon Combo Pack

3/8" Glitter Ribbon Combo Pack

You know me, I love glitter! I wish we had glitter ribbons year round! These are in the colours of the Fancy Frost Suite - Sweet Sugarplum and Silver and they're gorgeous!

10. Best Embellishments- Tie: Mini Pinecones & Mini Jingle Bells

Mini Pinecones

I really couldn't choose! Could you?

Mini Jingle Bells

And there - for what it's worth, is what I think you might be best to spend your well-earned craft dollars on! But you don't have to stop there! There are soooo many more great products in that catalogue. To narrow it down was excruciating! Have fun with your wish list!
