Let It Ride Sneak Peek

One of the stamp sets I noticed the first time I leafed through the new Occasions Catalogue way back in November, was Let It Ride*. I loved that there was a good horse set for two reasons - my daughter and my sister. Both are horse lovers. My daughter has owned two horses and so has my sister, I think. They both love riding and would be doing it if nothing else stood in their way. I can't find any photos of my daughter's horses right now, but here are a couple of my sister:

  • Don't you love that sentiment combined with the running horse image? It does the same thing to me as the song, "Let It Go!" (Don't tell anyone!) Lol!
  • I love the sketched value of the images, but I did a little extra with them. After stamping, I took a Blender Pen, and pulled the colour from the lines of the image into the image itself a little more. In some cases, where there would be dark colour (hooves) or shadowed area (under the belly or a shadowed leg), I got a little extra ink from the ink pad, and rubbed a little off first before adding to the image and blending it out. Because the Sahara Sand cardstock isn't watercolour paper, you can't spend a lot of time blending, it has to be fairly quick or you will start to deteriorate the paper.
  • I kept the palette fairly neutral with a Soft Suede base, a Mossy Meadow matte and the Sahara Sand top layer. The sentiment is on Whisper White.
  • It needed a bit of embellishment to offset the starkness, so I added some of the Braided Linen Trim and a Galvanized Button.

Over all the card was very easy to do, but effective to look at. I hope you're getting excited about the coming Occasions Catalogue. I have my copies now and will be distributing them in the next orders I send out, so the best way to get one fast is to put in an order with me. Once I've finished with those, I will get around to delivering others in the area, so let me know if you'd like a copy. With the start of the Occasions Catalogue, starts Sale-A-Bration, Stampin' Up!'s biggest promotion of the year and it goes on for three months! The Sale-A-Bration Brochures will be delivered with the catalogues. Basically, it works like this: with every $60 or $120 you order, you will be able to choose one or two Sale-A-Bration Rewards for free! The rewards are FABULOUS this year, too! You're going to want to earn several! AND if you earn a reward during Sale-A-Bration, you will be eligible to receive an invitation to my exclusive Celebrate Sale-A-Bration Party, held in April, where you will be able to win many of the SAB prizes you couldn't earn during the Sale period.

There are other ways to benefit during Sale-A-Bration, too! One is to host a party or private class, during the sales period. Stampin' Up! always sweetens the pot of Host Stampin' Rewards during this time by $30, so your reward bucks take you much further!

And the very best way to benefit is to buy the Starter Kit! It has always been the best deal on the block, but during Sale-A-Bration, not only does Stampin' Up! add another $60 worth of products that you can get in your Kit for no more than the regular $135, but it gives you the opportunity to also get the highly coveted Craft & Carry Tote bag for a greatly reduced price ($40 instead of $68). It's good to be thinking about all of these things ahead of time so that you can plan your strategies for Sale-A-Bration! Call  or message me if you have questions or need any help!
