Well, that was FUN! I had a day to play with some of my new products and one product suite that I especially enjoyed working with was the *Come Sail Away Suite! This suite includes the *Sailing Home Cling Stamp Set and the *Smooth Sailing Dies, along with the *Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper. Of course, I'm a sucker for anything nautical or anything that will make masculine cards and so this suite is right up my alley...er, strait, channel... whatever!

I'm showcasing this suite for our first As You See It Challenge #201 without Amanda as our challenge designer, where we, as a Design Team, are now coming up with the challenges ourselves. I just happened to be first on the roster with a sketch challenge:
From here on in, we've decided to use a regular rotation of six styles of challenge. In future, you'll be seeing a sketch, a colour challenge, a fill-in-the-blank, a recipe (where you're given ingredients you have to use), a theme and finally a speed challenge. Then back to the beginning.
Anyway, here is what I came up with as my Design Team sample:
- On my card base of Gray Granite, I added a piece of the *Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper, with a die cut rope trim at the top and bottom from the *Smooth Sailing Dies.
- Another piece of the *Come Sail Away DSP was used as the background to the stamping of the lighthouse and some seabirds in the sky, images from the *Sailing Home stamp set. The paper itself has a newspaper design, something we haven't had for awhile. It's a design that will be increasingly foreign to people as printed newspapers become extinct, victims of online media.
- The stamped compass was punched with a 1 1/2" Circle Punch and backed with a Gray Granite stitched circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies. I also die cut a ship's wheel with the *Smooth Sailing Dies and added a Metallic Brad and a Mini Stampin' Dimensional before adding it to the collage.
- The two flags out the left side of the sketch are made with a strip of the *Come Sail Away DSP and a Thanks sentiment, also from the *Sailing Home stamp set, embossed in White Stampin' Emboss Powder and die cut with the label from the *Smooth Sailing Dies, which you can make 3D with the help of a couple of Mini Stampin' Dimensionals placed strategically.
- The last touches are some seaweed, die cut from vellum using another die from the *Smooth Sailing Dies, and a bow with the Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker's Twine with a *Sail Away Trinket attached.
