In my quest to revive a few "old" techniques for my Technique Night class this month, I decided that the "kissing" technique was one of the ones that we should visit. Like many of the other old techniques, it requires one solid stamp image and one patterned image. I found them, one in the Very Versailles stamp set and one in the Love What You Do stamp set and the result made a great background! In the next photo, you can see it up close:
- The two stamps that were used were the script stamp from Very Versailles and the large 'blob' or paint stroke stamp from Love What You Do. To get this look, I inked up the large paint stroke stamp in Coastal Cabana ink and then touched it to the dry, uninked surface of the script stamp. The script stamp removed ink from the other stamp to give the look above. Then I stamped the large paint stroke stamp on the surface of the image panel on the card. Easy peasy, but so effective!
- The black frame around the image panel is created by using the largest of the Stitched So Sweetly dies from the Jan/Jun Mini Catalogue. It's actually a rectangle, but once I die cut the rectangle, I moved the die up the die cut rectangle about 4 scallops, matching up the scallops on the die and the already die cut image and ran it through the die cutting machine once more. It gave me the perfect shape to back my image.
- The background papers are from the Follow Your Art Designer Series and the Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series.
- The sentiment is die cut with two dies from the large Well Written die set.
- The finishing touch was two coloured rhinestones from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones.
