Country Bouquet Bundle for As You See It Challenge #291 - Paint Pour.

Welcome to our latest colour challenge for As You See It Challenges, always my favourites. This one was put together by team member Joanne, and it's vibrant and beautiful, featuring so many of Stampin' Up!'s latest In Colours. Take a look at the Challenge Banner:

Since I've been playing with the Country Bouquet Punch I thought I would use it for this challenge along with the coordinating Country Bouquet stamp set.

The colours in this card look quite different from the cards my team mates used. Theirs are much more vibrant. That's because I used blending brushes to blend the colours on a sheet of Basic White cardstock before punching out the hearts using the Country Bouquet punch. But before I punched, I also used a water painter to sprinkle water all over the blended ink to get water splash marks. I used a paper towel to soak them up and dried it with a heat tool before punching too.

I arranged the hearts in an array leading from the bottom right corner to the upper left corner overlapping the hearts slightly. In the background, I used a Basic White cardstock piece embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. The sentiment was embossed with White embossing powder on a small piece of Tahitian Tide cardstock and mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals as shown. The card base, by the way, is Night of Navy - high contrast with the Basic White.

  3. Blending (and water-colouring) are such great ways to tame strong colours and I love that soft, dreamy flow of colour you've created. Great technique and great card! Interesting that colour challenges are your favourite - mine is sketches. And I retain a soft spot for our speed challenge too. :-)

  5. I love the way you created such a soft and dreamy card with these rather bright colours Heather - it suits your design of cascading hearts perfectly! I am with Jan and much prefer a sketch challenge - when it came to creating I had a struggle with these colours even though I chose them lol!
