Because it's Friday, there's another As You See It Challenge up, and it's an interesting one for sure:
The title of the challenge is Not My Jam! Imagine making a card with your least favourite colour, especially when colour is a huge driver for your creativity! When that happens you have to find other motivations, so I went for a new technique like a new way of making a shaker card, and lots of sparkle. I decided to use the Snowflake Wishes Bundle and the Rainbow Glimmer paper. Here's a closer look. See if you can figure out how I made the shaker card in such an easy way:
- I learned this technique at our OnStage@Home event a couple of weeks ago. It's so easy, it's crazy! You simply take a clear envelope and add a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of DSP inside it (or cardstock) then fold the excess envelope over the side and tape it firmly down. (Here I used some Artistry Blooms DSP.)
- Fill the envelope with sequins or shaker bits of any kind, then fold the sticky flap over tightly and adhere to the back. (I used some Snowflake Sequins and some leftover iridescent sequins of some kind that I had in my stash.)
- Add adhesive and glue to to the card base. Then you can add a sentiment and embellishments to the front of the shaker envelope. (I stamped my sentiment from Snowflake Wishes on Whisper White with Melon Mambo ink and die cut it with one of the Stitched Rectangle dies.)
- I embellished it with various styles of snowflakes die cut with the So Many Snowflake dies from the Rainbow Glimmer Paper.
