Casing the Catalogue (or Not) for the 2020 Aug/Dec Mini Catalogue Launch!

Over the weekend, I held my second online Zoom Catalogue Launch, this one for the 2020 Aug/Dec Mini! It turned out well, I thought, considering my relationship with the technology! I avoided the feedback I had last time trying to use both my phone and tablet, but I had trouble hearing the participants unless I muted my mic. Which doesn't work great for the host of the event, as you can imagine. So I did a lot of muting/unmuting for the duration! Nevertheless, we played 2 games plus bingo, reviewed the catalogue, had snacks, and did 2 make & takes. I included the games, bingo cards and make & take packets in the Party Pack, along with some yummy treats, and delivered them before the Launch. I also made many samples from products in the new 2020 Mini! I wanted to share them with you today, so you can see what's available and how it can be used:

These samples mostly highlight the Snowflake Splendor Suite from pgs 36 - 38 in the Canadian English Aug/Dec Mini catalogue. These samples made good use of both the dies and the sentiments and stamped snowflakes. What a great suite, and perfect to perfect your technique making shaker cards! I also took the time to fashion a small gift box from some of the Snowflake Splendour DSP! I think my favourite is the little 4" x 4" Snowflake Wishes card on the left!

Then came the Autumn theme display using the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series paper and the Gather Together Bundle and the Autumn Essentials dies. My favourites are the little plaid pumpkins. Some of these cards will be part of my September Online Class.

Right in the middle of the fireplace mantle, the Merry Moose, gets another chance to shine this year on a rustic banner in red & black buffalo check. The moose is featured again on another catalogue case in the background. I was able to make use of the Wishes & Wonder Bundle with the reindeer card and sleigh set up in front and there is another piece of the autumn display featuring the Autumn Greetings Bundle on the far left. On the far right you're also seeing the start of the Poinsettia Petals Suite display.

This display may be my favourite of all of them.  The Poinsettia Petals display features a variety of poinsettias: made by die cutting the images out of the Poinsettia Petals DSP, by die-cutting and embossing (at the same time) the petals and leaves and then assembling them to create the flower, stamping and colouring the petals and leaves and then die-cutting them with just the outlines. There are some beautiful embellishments with this suite as well.

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the samples and I thought maybe you might like to play along with one of the games we played:

Look carefully at this doctored copy of Aug/Dec Mini Catalogue Cover to see how many of the 11 missing items you can find, comparing it to the real cover. Send me an email at hcooper52@gmail.com with your answers. The first right answer I receive will win a package of the Plaid Tidings 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper free!

Perfectly Plaid for Kylie's Demonstrator Training August Blog Hop

Thanks for stopping by!  Today I'm participating in Kylie's Demonstrator Training August Blog Hop.  I'm so excited to be part of this training program and happy to participate in my third Blog Hop with them! The purpose of the group is for the group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators that are part of the program...to share ideas and to learn from each other...to help us in our Stampin' Up! Business.

Today you will "hop around the world" and check out the amazing projects created by these very talented demonstrators.  You are currently visiting Heather Cooper from British Columbia, Canada.  Please take some time to check out all of the blogs on the list below!

I'm using the *Perfectly Plaid Bundle for my sample today. I've paired it up with some *Wrapped in Plaid Specialty 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper and I've even managed to throw in the *Merry Moose Bundle. Three for the price of one!!  Here it is:

*New Products from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue, not available for sale until Sept. 4, 2019.

  • On the card base of  Shaded Spruce cardstock, I added a piece of Night of Navy cardstock.
  • I stamped a panel of Whisper White cardstock with the realistic tree image from the *Perfectly Plaid stamp set by inking it up in Shaded Spruce and stamping a couple of times without reinking to create the depth of a small woods. I also varied the level of the base of each tree to help create that same depth.
  • Near the base of that piece of Whisper White I added a length of *Cherry Cobbler 3/8" (1 cm) Diagonal Striped Ribbon, using Snail or stronger double sided tape or glue dots to adhere it to the back of the panel. Then the panel can be glued to the card front.
  • On a separate piece of Whisper Whisper White, I stamped the solid moose image (I had to get him in - I'm Canadian, after all!) from *Merry Moose stamp set in Soft Suede using the Stamparatus to be sure I got a solid image.  And I stamped the sentiment from the *Perfectly Plaid stamp set in Cherry Cobbler. It was the first time I used the sentiment, and because I know how Cherry Cobbler can stain photopolymer stamps, so I cleaned it using the new Stamp Cleaning Pad. Wow! What a difference! Barely any colour left at all!! Both of these were punched out, the moose with the coordinating *Moose Punch and the sentiment with the Timeless Label Punch.
*New Products from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue, not available for sale until Sept. 4, 2019.

  • I cut a strip of the *Wrapped in Plaid DSP to add to the card front as shown using dimensionals and I used the *Pine Tree Punch to punch a tree out of the same DSP, trim off the trunk and attach as shown to the card front, also with dimensionals. I used mini dimensionals on the moose and had to trim down some of the edge of the dimensional border into thin strips to use on the legs.
  • The sentiment is glued down and I took some Gold Metallic Thread and doubled it, then threaded it through a couple of *Jingle Bells for an embellishment.
*New Products from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue, not available for sale until Sept. 4, 2019.
