Wow! Overload!!

Goodness! I can't believe it! My brain is on overload, I guess! I forgot to do a post for this morning, and I never forgot to do that! I can't remember the last time I forgot. Oh, well, the world didn't fall apart and it's probably a good thing because tomorrow is the launch of the new Holiday Catalogue, so I'll do a post for that and you'll get a bonus this week!

Today is the last day to order your Thoughtful Branches Bundle and I'm putting in an order very shortly so you have to message me quickly to get in on it!

Also it's the last day to use your Bonus Days coupons! Again, message me ASAP!

I am also late in getting out my September newsletter, but it should be done by the end of the week, and when it's out, subscribers will be getting a FREE step-by-step photo tutorial to make this suspended easel card using the Seaside Shore stamp set from the Annual Catalogue. To sign up for my newsletter, enter your email address below.   See you tomorrow with the new Holiday Catalogue!!

Seaside Shore Suspended Easel Card for The Paper Players

I really wanted to play along with a challenge this week, but I was having a hard time finding one that appealed to me, which doesn't happen often, believe me. Usually there are so many I like that I have trouble choosing. But this week I just wasn't connecting. Even The Paper Player's colour challenge, while attractive, had me wondering what to do with it.

As I rummaged through my stamp closets, tossing stamp sets this way and that, I finally had a brain wave! A double brain wave, actually! The Seaside Shore stamp set would be perfect for this colour scheme with tropical blue waters and multicoloured fish and defining areas of black. Then I began to visualize the fish suspended in an open window in the card and the idea of the suspended easel card was born. Here's a closer look:

  • I don't want to go into too much detail on the how to's of this card as it will be featured in a step-by-step photo tutorial on my September Newsletter, free for all who subscribe to my newsletter (also free). Basically the fish are suspended on some White Baker's Twine and sandwiched between two layers of cardstock, each with the identical oval opening die cut in them.
  • Here are some other views of this card:
A side view to show the mechanism.

It will  fold flat to fit into a regular envelope.
