Alpine Adventures with Buffalo Check Background

I love rustic, sporty greeting cards, so one would think that I also love rustic, sporty holidays, but nothing could be further from the truth. There were times in my life when I loved rustic, sporting Alpine adventures, but that was many moons ago, and the closest I get to that nowadays is wearing a plaid shirt and collecting pine cones from my Ponderosa Pine in my front yard. Nevertheless, I was immediately attracted to the Alpine Adventures Bundle* with it's sleigh and skis and snowshoes, and also to the Buffalo Check Background Stamp*. So this is my first creation using these products.

Take a closer look at the gorgeous rusticity (I'm sure that's a word...):

  • The Buffalo Check background stamp* is so on trend right now. I was super glad to get it, because I have a daughter whose family wears little else in the winter, in terms of shirts, scarves and accessories! I created the background by stamping the check in black ink on Real Red cardstock.
  • Underneath I have another scrap of the Crumb Cake run through the Big Shot with the Corrugated Dynamic Embossing Folder*.

Winter Woods - What's New at Stampin' Up! Blog Hop

I'm so pleased that you are joining us for our hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from around the world who are Hoppin’ With Exciting Ideas to share with you. Today we will feature products from the 2018 Holiday Stampin’ Up! Catalog. I know you will find a lot of wonderful ideas shared today!

The product that I'm sharing with you is a stamp set called Winter Woods. I remember that when I first saw this set, leafing through the new catalogue, I got goosebumps, so I knew I had to have it! I think I realized that it would coordinate so well with the Roots of Nature set from the Annual Catalogue and the old faithful Lovely as a Tree, also from the Annual Catalogue. It is also part of a bundle when you combine it with the In the Woods Framelits, but I didn't make use of those in today's sample. Here it is:

What I did was to create a peaceful, winter woodland scene by adding a deer image from the Dashing Deer stamp set. Here's a closer look:

  • The paper behind the stamped panel is from the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper set - so rich with copper metallic accents!
  • The stamped panel is also backed with a Copper Foil sheet.
  • The main fir tree is a single stamp that stamps with different opacity of ink. I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter and Rhinestones for the bling.
  • The background row of trees is stamped in Sahara Sand, with the snow stamped in Pool Party and Dazzling Diamond Glitter added as well. It's a little hard to see in the photograph, but it's very glittery in real life.

  • The deer is stamped in Soft Suede and the sentiment, also from the stamp set, is embossed in Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder.

I hope you enjoyed my design with the Winter Woods stamp set. Now please hop on over to Pia Gerhardt's blog to see what she's done with the Tags & Tidings Bundle!

Or try moving back to Teri Pocock's blog for a creation with Beautiful Blizzard, a great snowflake bundle!
