I do have a card I'd like to share with you today. Last week, I received the newer photopolymer stamp set, Gentle Peace and I was excited to try it out. I wanted to try a stained glass effect, but I needed a design for my Christmas Stamper's Dozen, which happens tonight. Doing a massive amount of colouring is not practical when you have to make 3 cards in each of 4 designs and finish them all before the end of civilization as we know it, so I needed a more time sensitive design. I opted for a technique of which I've seen many beautiful examples: Gold embossing on Gold Foil Sheets.
- I chose some rich colours for this card. Along with the Gold Foil Sheets and Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, I used Blackberry Bliss for the card base and the sentiment base (on which I stamped the sentiment from Gentle Peace in Versamark and heat embossed with the gold embossing powder) and Blackberry Bliss Stitched Satin Ribbon.
- The background DSP is the lace look from Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper. It is very effective here.
- A Rhinestone Basic Jewel adds a little extra bling on the star in the stained glass.
- I shaped the Blackberry Bliss sentiment base using the Ticket Duo punch. I needed it longer than the ticket punch can manage, so I slipped the paper into the punch from the top and only punched one end at a time. To do that successfully, the paper has to be slightly less than 3/4", the width of the large ticket punch.
