What drives the designs you create? For me it's most often colour, but today, it was some specialty paper. I love the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum ... a lot!
By the way, it's retiring at the end of December, so if you like what you see here, you should make sure to order some while it's still available.
I saw it the silvery snowflake design, and almost right away, the whole card put itself together in my mind, with the help, that is, of Laurie's cute sketch for The Paper Players Challenge this week:
Here's my take on the sketch:
- I dug out an older stamp set to create the front panel along with some new ones. The Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set has a great cluster of little snowflakes that work really well with the designer vellum in the background. I added a couple of the stylized flakes from the Jolly Christmas stamp set. They were all stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder.
- The Designer Series Paper behind the vellum layer is from the Home for Christmas collection. The design features falling snow on a Pool Party background.
- The flag was created with the Banner Triple Punch, while the sentiment tag was punched out with the Note Tag Punch, and the 1/8" Circle Punch was used to make the hole at the top. It is stamped with a sentiment from Cozy Christmas, again embossed with Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder.
