Craft Fair Novelties and Online Extravaganza

I was at a Craft Fair on Saturday! I always enjoy myself at the fairs, especially talking to everyone about something I love - stamping!! I try to have some novelties on hand to sell in addition to my cards, kits and retired products. Just as I was looking for something new and fun I found this tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. They were super easy to make with the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits. I thought the idea was brilliant!

My other novelty was this:

I used the new Baker's Box Thinlets with the window and filled them with jelly beans. This was easy as pie to make as well because the thinlits do almost all the work for you.

  • I used bright, primary colours for the Christmas lights: Real Red, Cucumber Crush, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point. I used the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits, but cut half of them off. I will be using the other half to make some lanterns that I saw on pinterest and will show you when I have them done. I sponged the edges in the same colour ink and added the little highlight with the White Signo Uni-Ball Gel Pen on the left hand side.
  • To make the bases, I cut pieces of Silver Foil sheets 2.5" x 1.25" and made the scallops on the edges using the largest framelit from the Squares Collection Framelit dies. I then scored them using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to make the screw-in base of the light bulbs.
  • I added some Peppermint Patties to the inside using Glue Dots and tied the tops with ribbon. Don't they just look so much like Christmas lights?
  • For this box, I simply used the Baker's Box Thinlit Dies to do all of the cutting necessary. The dies also make your score lines, they cut the windows and even the label and the word yum! Everything. You need two of the basic shape and I used Fast Fuse to hold it together.
All of these novelties I sold for $2 each and I have some left over. They would make great stocking stuffers!  Let me know if you would like some!
