Spring is definitely in the air. My forsythia is starting to bloom. Crocuses are monopolizing the gardens and lawns and we alternate warm sunshine and cold rainy days. And who can believe Easter is on the weekend?? I'm making Easter cards for a few people and I thought I'd share a few with you. This one is inspired by The Paper Players' Clean and Simple Challenge:
The challenge inspired me to do some blossoms, and so I got out a rarely used stamp set called Sweetbriar Rose, and decided to do a little watercolouring.
- I embossed the image in white on Shimmery White cardstock and watercoloured it using Aqua Painters and Blushing Bride, Watermelon Wonder, Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Pads. The more I do watercolouring, the more I enjoy it. I'm no expert, but I find it very soothing.
- The sentiment is from the Suite Sayings stamp set and stamped in Wisteria Wonder.
- Love the cute little fork bow in Wisteria Wonder Seam Binding Ribbon.
Saying Good- Bye to the 2014 - 2016 In Colours
Every year in June, Stampin' Up! retires 5 of the In Colours, the ones that have been around for two years, so they can add 5 new, trending colours for our selection. Unless Stampin' Up! does a colour refresh and adds some of them to the regular colour families, we won't likely see them again. This happens every year. And every year, some customers wait until the last week of May or so before realizing that they need to order them right away in order to get some before they disappear. This is a risky manuever, as supplies are very low at that point. In fact, as soon as they hit the retiring list, in April, they are likely to disappear very quickly.
Your best strategy is to stock up now, before they go on the retiring list. and supplies are well stocked.
Here are the five colours retiring this year:
You'll be saying so long to Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist. Let me know if you want to stock up!
