It was the BBQ birthday party for a good friend of the family a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to create a masculine birthday card for him, so I turned to an old favourite stamp set, Guy Greetings, but paired it with some new Designer Series Paper and texture stamps to get a vintage look.
My post today is a bit abbreviated, as I have eight extra people in the house, four of whom are squirmy, wiggly, giggly little ones as my family gathers for its yearly summer get together and we are waiting for my last daughter and her family to arrive tonight. The house is chaos but it's all good and I have had so many wonderful grandbaby snuggles!
Here's a closer look at the card:
- You might recognize the pattern from Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack in the background of the card, but behind the antique card, there is a new pattern from the Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack* from the new Holiday Catalogue.
- I've stamped the images from Guy Greetings in either Early Espresso Ink or Soft Suede, and added texture from either the Timeless Textures stamp set or the Touches of Texture stamp set, both from the new Annual Catalogue. Everything has been sponged with Soft Suede ink around the edges to enhance the vintage look.
- I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from Guy Greetings, stamped in Early Espresso and die cut it using the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelit Dies. I die cut it twice, making it shorter than normal and then die cut a normal sized backing from Soft Suede cardstock.
