Teddy Bears and Tiredness

I am battling the desire to leave my computer and crawl into bed tonight, but I had to get this post up for you for tomorrow! It's been a big weekend for me. I directed our church's Children's Christmas program which happened last night after a long rehearsal on Saturday and another Sunday morning. But none of it was easy. Kids and teachers alike were fighting the flu and it snowed non-stop all weekend! The production of Bethlehem Evening News apparently went very smoothly from the front of the stage, but backstage, it felt like chaos. We have a huge stage in our auditorium and it felt like I was running from one end to the other the whole time leading little ones to their places or getting them to come off the stage when they were done! (Not easy - they loved the spotlight!!) I had one particular group of sweet looking angels that were anything but angelic backstage! Ah well! In the end, everyone was happy!

I had to come up with a fairly quick card and I have had one in mind for quite a while, so I put it together yesterday afternoon. It involved the Baby Bear stamp set from the Annual Catalogue, sitting under the Christmas tree branches with a big red bow on its neck as if it was a Christmas present for a little one.

  • The Baby Bear stamp set involves Triple Step Stamping. I always start with the darker more detailed image first because I find it easier to line the images up that way. I used Early Espresso, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake for my three images for the bear. I could have stamped a bow in Cherry Cobbler, but decided to make it more 3D by tying one using the Cherry Cobbler ribbon from the Silky Taffeta Ribbon Combo Pack. The bear was fussy cut right up to the little openings under his arms.
  • The Stitched Shapes Framelits are not available to order right now due to back orders and unavailability, but you'll be able to order them again starting January 16 - my birthday, by way of coincidence! I used one of the circles to die cut the sentiment.
  • The Pine Bough Textured Impressions Embossing Folder created the background look of the Christmas tree for the bear to sit underneath. This embossing folder is retiring and is on sale for $8.00 CAD.

Today is the deadline to order from me to guarantee that you will get your products in time for Christmas. It is the last order I will be placing before the big day. You are welcome, however, to place your own online orders. The Christmas deadline still applies, however.
