Christmas Carols in July

It was an eventful weekend, for many reasons, but one of them was that my pre-order of the Carols of Christmas* early release bundle arrived on Friday, so I was excited to be able to start playing with it. I want to show you what an awesome set it is and how versatile it will be for those of you who like to make your own Christmas greeting cards. This bundle* will be available for you to purchase in August, and is a perfect product on which to spend your Bonus Days coupons! I hope to prove that to you over the next few weeks, but, if you trust me, you'll start to earn those coupons now! For every $60 you spend before tax and shipping in July (per order), you will receive a $6 coupon that you can redeem in August. Stock up on your basics now, as well as those awesome products from the new Annual Catalogue that you have on your wish list, then you can earn enough coupons to take a big chunk out of the price of this bundle once you can order it in August!!

Take a closer look:

  • The scene stealers are those beautiful, big sentiments with all the interesting details on each letter! Here I've stamped one of them with Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla cardstock! That almost makes the whole card for you, it is such a commanding image! If you had some Christmas Designer Series Paper and a ribbon, that could be your whole card!
  • But the bundle includes the Card Front Builder Thinlits* and they are so cool that it bumps the set to a whole new level. On this card the trees and the deer are die cut with pieces from the thinlit set. You can stamp the deer, but you won't see the trees included in the stamp set, so you can't judge the bundle by just looking at the stamps. It is so much more awesome than that. You can see many other designs by checking out my Pinterest Board for Carols of Christmas by clicking here.
  • The background is Early Espresso cardstock embossed using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Embossing Folder. The festive but rustic palette I've used is:

Here's one other thing that happened in my very busy weekend:

We bought a kayak and all the things we needed to go with it like a car top carrier for it, PFD's, a bailer, rope and whistle, all of which cost almost as much as the kayak itself!! But it was so nice to get out on the lake together, in the early morning before it got hot and enjoy a paddle! Our one issue in entering and exiting said kayak gracefully! I'll admit it was a scenario that haunted me for a long time and prevented me from embracing the idea wholeheartedly! But my wonderful hubby was kind enough to take the first dunk in the lake for me, I'm sure so that I wouldn't feel so bad! I actually was able to get in and out, if not gracefully, at least successfully without getting wet! We have since dubbed out kayak "Dunkin" and plan to spend many more idyllic hours on the lake this summer!

However, our province is in the midst of a horrendous state of emergency as hot, dry weather and wind combined with dry lightning and human error have spawned a record number of wildfires causing many evacuations and communities have gone up in flames. Please pray for the evacuees and the fire fighters as they battle over 233 fires started over the last few days. Although that is still not a record for our province, concern is high as there is no rain forecast in the foreseeable future and the fire hazard is extreme for much of the province! No one had better be dropping a cigarette butt around here!
