I'm living life on the wild side today and tackling TWO challenges at once!! I don't often do that, I guess, because I'm not spending the time to go searching for challenge blogs I can combine, but this week it was handed to me on a platter, because two challenge blogs that I play regularly, had challenges that I could coordinate this week.
First Freshly Made Sketches had a unique square shape with an off-center diagonal that was intriguing:
And The Paper Players had a White on White Theme Challenge that was fun to try out:
- This angle was the best way to be able to see the dry and heat embossing that distinguishes the two panels of white on the front of the card. The right piece is heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder, using the snowflake stamps from Cheers to the Year. The left piece is dry embossed with the Holly Embossing Folder.
- Because of the white on white, I did use a silver metallic edged ribbon to separate the two panels on the card top from each other.
- I die cut the star from the Starlight Thinlits from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper to add as an embellishment, popped up with half mini-dimensionals; the sentiment from the Oh What Fun stamp set is heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. I like that it has a little sprig of holly on it to coordinate with the holly on the left panel. The Pretty Label Punch was perfect for that sentiment.
This past weekend was Stampin' Up!'s OnStage convention and I didn't get to go this year for various reasons. So I was pretty envious and a bit grumpy because of it, I'm afraid. But today, anyone who is a Stampin' Up! demonstrator will get to preview the Occasions Catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. We will drool for a couple of weeks and then be able to pre-order come December 1. As part of the general public, you won't see the catalogues until mid-December and won't be able to order from them until January 3rd. Would you like to have that early privilege of being able to see and order all the new product ahead of everyone else? If you join Stampin' Up! by ordering the Starter Kit between now and January 2. You can order some of the new product as part of the merchandise in your starter kit and take part in the preorder as a new demonstrator! If you would like to join my team, just click on Join My Team in the top menu and follow the prompts. You need to live in Canada for that to work. If not, contact Stampin' Up! and they will put you in contact with a demonstrator near you.
Click on the links below to take you to my On-Line Store, where you can read about, look at, and purchase if you wish, the products used to make this card today.
This is such an elegant card, Heather. The dazzling diamonds star is a real showstopper! In real life is must look even more amazing when it's easier to see the embossing on the panels - white on white photography is pretty hard! Thanks for joining us at The Paper Players this week. I think you've aced combining the two challenges.
