Little Twinkle for The Paper Players

How much fun is it when you have a whole bunch of new stamp sets that you love, Designer Series Paper that you adore AND a whole bunch of new colours to play with and combine? I'll tell you! It's more fun than popping an acre of bubble wrap! Yesterday, after finally getting around to cleaning up my Craft Cave again, I pulled out another new bundle, the Little Twinkle Bundle along with the coordinating Twinkle, Twinkle Designer Series Paper and had some more fun! This bundle has a stamp set and a punch instead of dies.

For the layout, I used the latest challenge from The Paper Players. Here's the sketch:

It seemed like it would be a good fit with the Little Twinkle stamp set, and the DSP made designing the different panels a bit easier.

  • Another new colour combination arose from this card using several of the new colours from our Colour Revamp! If you are keen on getting more of those colours at a good bargain, make sure you read about the amazing offer at the bottom of this post!
  • The two samples of DSP on the card are from the Twinkle, Twinkle collection and are two sides of the same piece actually. The Gray Granite one in the background is a wonderful multipurpose design in a neutral that I am falling in love with. Look how well it coordinates with the Night of Navy, Silver, Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam - not to mention the Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder!
  • The sentiment is from the Little Twinkle stamp set and I heat embossed it in silver on Whisper White and quickly added a little watercolour background with Petal Pink. When you watercolour on Whisper White, you can't use much water and you can only paint quickly and go over it once, or the paper fibers begin to break down. It's not really meant for watercolouring, but you can get away with it under the conditions I outlined above.
  • The little circle with the moon and stars is created using the coordinating Twinkle Builder Punch. From a sparkly piece of Shimmery White cardstock, which I had watercoloured using an Aqua Painter and Soft Sea Foam and Pool Party ink and then dried, I punched out the moon and three stars. (Actually, you can't help but punch out more stars, but I only used the three largest.) I punched the same from some Silver Foil Sheets. I matched up and adhered the watercoloured punched images to the same foil images, making sure they were offset a little to give a shadow effect, and mounted them on a Night of Navy circle (punched with a 1 3/4" circle punch). The moon and two largest stars are popped up on Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • A little bow of Silver and Whisper White Baker's Twine adds the finishing touch.

And now for that screaming deal I was telling you about!
