This week at As You See It Challenges, we have one of my favourites - a Fill In The Blank Challenge called Speak Your Mind! We have to fill in the blanks in the Challenge Banner the way we want and then make a card or project based on those words. Here is the banner so you know what I'm talking about:
Since I am having a team meeting next week and needed many congratulation cards for that, I decided to come up with a design using the Little Elephant stamp set from the Annual Catalogue. I've had it forever, love the images, but have never used it! No time like the present. I'm filling in the blanks with: I need to say congratulations to my team.
The colours I decided to work with are Pineapple Punch, Smoky Slate and Basic Gray.
Gray, of course, for the elephants, and yellow because it just looks so darn good with gray, right? Here's how it turned out:
- The base is a Whisper White Note Card from the Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes, On the front is a panel of Basic Gray Designer Series Paper from the Animal Expedition DSP.
- The Whisper White panel on the front was stamped with the sentiment (from Little Elephant) in Pineapple Punch ink then run through the Big Shot with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder. It's really hard to see, but I added a few drops of the Frost White Shimmer Paint to a Stampin' Spritzer filled about 1/3 full with alcohol, shook it well and spritzed it onto the white panel. It added a real shimmer to the paper.
- Both elephants were stamped in both Smoky Slate and Pineapple Punch, just so I could get the extra yellow ears punched out using the Elephant Builder Punch which bundles with the Little Elephant stamp set.
- The plaid rectangle for the ground and the balloons, which were inked up using Stampin' Write Markers, had to be fussy cut.
Keep watching this space. Sometime next week, there will be a surprise sale from Stampin' Up! It will be short and sweet and I don't know any details yet. I'll probably only find out the day before. But as soon as I know, you'll know, so just keep your eye on my blog.
Hope you have a great weekend! See you Monday!
