Another Movie Monday!

Well, I must confess that I didn't make the following video.  I've been really busy sewing some crib bedding for my newest grandbaby, due in the next couple of weeks.  I'm flying up to Ft. St. James on Wednesday to help out and babysit my little grandson when my daughter heads to the hospital, so I have been scrambling to have enough blog fodder and class samples ready so I can leave for a week or two (????) and still be bringing this blog to you.

First let me show you what I've been working on for the grandbaby:

Comforter.  My daughter did the piecing in the middle.
The dust ruffle.  I also made sheets with the polka
dot and the yellow striped material.

Now, I want to share with you an ideal Mother's Day gift for a person who loves to create, but may be short on space or time:

Now you can prepay a Paper Pumpkin subscription for them.

With  Mother's Day just around the corner, it's a great time to take advantage of these prepaid subscriptions that can be bought as gifts. It's the gift that keeps on giving!

And if you have any doubts about what kind of value you would get for your money, here's the latest April Paper Pumpkin kit:

Please contact  me if you're interested.

And I don't want to leave you without a project to look at, so here is a quick one.  These are mini 3" x 3" Thank You cards that I made for my customers.

These feature two retiring products:

  1. The Modern Medley Designer Series Paper.  I have loved the drama of these designs, all in Basic Black and Very Vanilla.  They are great with any vintage cards or projects.  All the Design Series Paper will be retiring, but don't fret.  I have seen the new annual catalogue and there are lots of great designs to take their place.
  2. The Friendship Preserves Stamp Set, which I haven't used a ton but it was just right for this project.  It coordinates with the Window Frames Framelits.  I love it inked up in Rich Razzleberry and teamed with the Modern Medley designs.
If you're interested in either of these products or in any other retiring products, let me caution you to order soon.  Many have already been sold out and all will only be available while supplies last!  Check the upper right margin of my blog for links to the up-to-date lists.

A Thousand Thanks to our Wonderful Demonstrator Support Team

Today I am saluting the most wonderful support team a small business owner could have: our Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Support Team.  Oh, my goodness!  Where would I be without their patient helpfulness when I call with some pretty strange questions and problems?  A Thousand, nay... a Hundred Thousand Thanks to each and every one!!!  This post is intended to be part of a Virtual Flash Mob of Gratitude to our amazing DS Team from all the Stampin' Up! Demonstrators, and I thought it would be great to incorporate The Paper Player's Challenge #192.  Nance Leedy came up with this cute one:

You know what a HUGE fan I am of washi tape, right? (not) But it's growing on me and I really like how easy it is to use.  I haven't quite gotten to the point where I can just rip it and apply it willy nilly.  I'm still either cutting or hiding the ends, but I admit that it is a lot of fun to just stick it on!

So, here's my thank-you to DS:

  • I chose an odd colour scheme of Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Soft Sky and Gold for this card.  I have no idea why!  It just came to me, but I like it.  The Soft Sky softens the drama of the Black, Vanilla and Gold.
  • I unwittingly created an optical illusion with my Watercolour Wonder Washi Tape.  Can you see it?  Leave me a comment if you can explain it.
  • The background DSP is from the Modern Medley collection which will be retiring this year.  I will really miss the Basic Black and Very Vanilla designs.  Best order that one soon, as it will only be available while supplies last!
  • The heart is from the Peachy Keen Stamp Set.  I stamped it twice, once in StazOn Jet Black and once in Soft Sky.  I hand snipped them both out, but I left off the "shadow" on the Soft Sky heart.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals to mount the blue heart on the black one, offset a little, and more Dimensionals to mount both of them on the card for a little vertical dimension.
  • The Soft Sky swirl is from Clockworks, a retiring stamp set that is really going to be hard to say good-bye to!  It is one of the great masculine sets we have and it has those great background collage elements.  I can hardly wait to see what new masculine sets Stampin' Up! will include in the new Annual Catalogue coming out June 2.
  • I added a few splatters of the Encore Metallic Gold stamp pad with the Gorgeous Grunge splatter stamp.
So, in closing, give three cheers for the Stampin' Up! Demo Support folks!  Nice and loud now, so they can hear you, there in their cubicles in the home offices at Riverton, Utah!  "Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!"  Oh, well done!

Don't forget this week is Free Shipping from Stampin' Up!, bless their hearts!  Perfect for ordering some of those retiring products you won't be able to live without!  Email me or place your order online!
