What's Cookin' Bundle

what's cookin' 1

This sweet little bundle has been sitting in my stash for a while now just waiting its turn to be inked up and die cut! And it has been so patient that it needed to be rewarded with trip to my craft table so to speak! The What's Cookin' Bundle can be found on page 34 of the 2021/22 Annual Catalogue. It's perfect for the foodie in your circle of friends and family! Whether they like to cook or bake, there are tools in this set to accommodate both!

Here's what I did with it:

what's cookin' 2
  • The coolest part of this set is the cutting board embossing die. It die cuts and embosses wood grain on the die cut at the same time. I used a wood grain DSP from the In Good Taste series for mine, but it definitely added to the texture to have the embossing feature as well.
  • I love all the little die cut vegie pieces. You can stamp and die cut the set of three all at once to make it faster. They really enhance the look of the image to have them on the cutting board.
  • I stamped the knife on the wood grain DSP and die cut it. Then I heat embossed the blade part only on some Silver Foil sheet (which are now retired! I'm not gonna lie - I don't understand why! Hopefully it'll be back with the July/Dec Mini). I die cut the blade and attached it to the wood grain knife with glue dots.
  • For the whisk, I die cut it from Silver Foil Sheets and then die cut it again from Poppy Parade cardstock and cut off the handle to adhere to the silver whisk with glue dots. The whisk handle and the peppers echo the colour of the card base and add a much needed pop to the whole project.
  • The granite countertop and tile backsplash are both designs from the In Good Taste Designer Series Papers.
  • The sentiment is from the What's Cookin' stamp set and is die cut with the Tasteful Label dies.

Dandy Garden Wishes for Monday Morning Live

dandy garden wishes for monday morning live 1

I just finished my Jan/Jun Mini Catalogue Launch Online over the weekend and I was pretty worn out by Sunday. However much fun they are, and this one was a blast, I always feel drained at the end! But I needed a sample for my blog post and something for my Monday Morning Facebook Live, and luckily I had some choices amongst the sample cards I made for the Catalogue Launch.

I'm not a big fan of the colours in the Dandy Garden Suite, but I do love the images and die cuts, so I decided to change up the colours on a few of the cards I created, because maybe some of my customers felt the same way I did. For this card, I used a piece of Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper in a So Saffron stenciled-looking design with a So Saffron card base and a Basic Black matte.

Then I die cut dandelion shapes using the Dandy Wishes dies from Silver Foil sheets and added them to the card front using Glue Dots.

The small dragon fly was punched using the Dragonflies punch and added with a Mini Dimensional.

The sentiment is from the Garden Wishes stamp set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

The materials and measurements are as follows:

Card Base: So Saffron Cardstock: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4" on the 8 1/2" side.

Backing: Basic Black: 5 1/4" x 4"

Fine Art Floral DSP: 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

Silver Foil Sheets: 4" x 7", 4" x 2 1/2"

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Sentiment: Garden Wishes stamp set

Dies: Dandy Wishes Dies

There are some great deals during Sale-A-Bration when you shop and when you host a party, but I have a secret to share with you. SSSHHH! Come closer, I don't want everyone in the world to know! The best deal during Sale-A-Bration is when you JOIN Stampin' Up! by purchasing the Starter Kit! I mean, even during the rest of the year, it's a screaming deal - you pay $135, but you get $165 worth of any current Stampin' Up! you choose! And you pay $0.00 in shipping fees! And you get all your business materials free!

But during Sale-A-Bration, you also get 5 stacks (40 sheets each of 6" x 6" DSP) of never before seen designs - a sneak peek from the next Annual Catalogue!! That's 200 sheets of paper altogether! Wow! Hard to beat that! Seems like a no brainer!

And risk? There is none! As a demonstrator, you enjoy a minimum 20% off those Stampin' Up! products you love, which grows as you progress. But you don't need to purchase an inventory so there's no monetary risk.

I would love to introduce you to the Stampin' Up! world and my team, the Papercraft Cats (named after my cat, Pickle, who "hunts" every night in my craft room for unsuspecting pieces of scrap cardstock or ribbon) and help you to feel comfortable setting up a business that meets your needs!

Pretty in Pink Poinsettia

pretty in pink poinsettia 1

I love Christmas cards in non-traditional colours! How about you? Today I'm going for pink, silver and Gray Granite with Sahara Sand. The pink is my favourite Petal Pink which goes so well with those neutrals, and I think the overall effect is quite elegant. I used the Poinsettia Dies, which bundle with the Poinsettia Petals stamp set, a gorgeous bundle which I think is one of the must haves of the Aug/Dec Mini Catalogue, if you don't yet have it! Honestly, you can whip up a poinsettia flower in minutes and it looks amazing, even without any ink at all, with those poinsettia embossing plates that you use at the same time as you die cut the layer of petals. And you can die cut all three layers in the same turn of the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.

Here are some instructions:

pretty in pink poinsettia 2

  • On a Sahara Sand base I mounted a Silver Foil layer and a piece of Peony Garden Designer Series Paper in a subtle Gray Granite design, on top of that.
  • The sentiment, from the For Unto Us stamp set, is stamped in Sahara Sand ink, on Whisper White cardstock, then die cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die and backed with Silver Foil, die cut using a scalloped rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Both are mounted flat using Stampin' Seal.
  • The poinsettia petals are die cut and embossed with the Poinsettia Dies from Petal Pink cardstock then shaped using a bone folder and layered using Glue Dots as the adhesive.
  • Silver Foil is die cut for the center of the flower and the sprigs of berries layered behind the flower with the Whisper White berries. These are all dies from the Poinsettia Dies set.
  • The sprigs of berries are added to the card front with strong adhesive such at Stampin' Seal+ placed behind where the flower will go and only a short length of the adhesive is needed to hold them.
Do you like traditionally coloured or non-traditionally coloured Christmas cards?
