Blended Seasons and Watercolour Pencils

The Blended Seasons Bundle and the new Watercolour Pencil Assortment 2 have only 10 more days before they will be unavailable to you. This versatile stamp set and amazing framelit bundle are well worth having in your collection and if you have the original Watercolour Pencils, you're going to want to add these new colours to them. Here's the details of this promotion:

As the season of sweaters and falling leaves approaches, I thought I'd show you another sample of what you can do with this stamp set and die bundle, and I also used the expanded collection of Watercolour Pencils Assortment 2 to colour it with.

  • I stamped the Leaf Image from the Blended Seasons stamp set in the retired Basic Black Archival Ink (still my favourite until I run out of reinker) on Shimmery White cardstock. Shimmery White has a warmer tone than Whisper White and holds up better to watercolouring using the Watercolour pencils and a Blender Pen.
  • I coloured in one set of leaves using Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler* watercolour pencils and the other set using Granny Apple Green*, Crushed Curry* and Gorgeous Grape*.  *Part of the expanded colour selection in the promotion.
  • The die cut leaves are from a framelit in the Stitched Seasons Framelits set. I used Gorgeous Grape, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze for the colours.
  • I die cut the coloured leaves and their Sahara Sand backing using the stitched labels dies in the Stitched Seasons set. These labels are perhaps, the most valuable reason why you should purchase this set. The dies create stitched line on both sides of the cut.
  • The sentiment, stamped in Gorgeous Grape is from the Blended Seasons stamp set as well and punched out with the Tailored Tag Punch.
  • The background on Cajun Craze cardstock is stamped with Versamark in the same leaves image, leaving a watermark type pattern.

Blended Seasons Christmas for As You See It

In trying to show you the versatility of the Blended Seasons Bundle that is available for a limited time to you, I decided to use this week's As You See It Challenge sketch to do a Christmas design using the Blended Seasons Christmas images and die cuts.

Here is the As You See It Challenge #182 sketch:

The title for this week's challenge is "Divided" and not only is the sketch divided, but the Blended Seasons Bundle is also divided into the seasons of the year with Spring/Summer, Fall and Winter represented. I've also taken a panel of Under the Mistletoe DSP and divided it, replacing the lower half with some Shaded Spruce DSP to allow for better visibility for the embossed sentiment. To see how I divided mine check out the larger photo here:

  • I used the largest label framelit from the Stitched Seasons Framelits that are part of this amazing bundle to divide my panel. Originally I was going to die cut the 4 x 5 1/4 panel of Under the Mistletoe DSP and flip the bottom part over to use the design on the reverse side, but it was too busy to be effective and I replaced the bottom part with an identical piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock.
  • To make the die cut symmetrical on both sides, so that you can flip the bottom and it will still fit properly, on the back side I made a ruler mark at 2" across and positioned the middle point of the label die there when putting it through the Big Shot. I would recommend die cutting the DSP and the cardstock at the same time to make sure that you have them the same size.
  • I stamped and coloured with Stampin' Blends, the holly leaves image from the Blended Seasons stamp set. I used the Old Olive Combo and the Cherry Cobbler Combo Stampin' Blends for this job. I fussy cut the holly leaves minus some of the smaller foliage bits to arrange along the divide in the panel.
  • Using the Stitched Seasons Framelits, I die cut a couple of flourishes, a bow and I stamped and die cut the bell image to add to the card front.
  • The sentiment is embossed in Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. It is from the Blended Seasons stamp set as well. I really like the font.

I hope I'm convincing you that this set is an important one to have in your craft stash even if it's only for the double stitched dies. You'll get a lot of use out of this one and you'll be earning Bonus Coupons to spend on the Holiday Catalogue in September!! Remember, this bundle is ONLY available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST during the month of August, then it's gone for good, so get your orders in quickly. I've created a Pinterest Page to show you the versatility of this set. You can access it here. And I hope you'll play along with us at As You See It Challenges this next week and a half.
