Tasteful Touches for Global Design Project

tasteful touches for global design project 1

I'm excited to be able to use the Tasteful Touches stamp set again. Sometimes it seems that we get so many new products to demo that some of my favourite sets take a back seat for a long time. I'm happy that this one will be carrying over in the new Annual Catalogue though, so I have more time to enjoy it.

I'm entering my card in the Global Design Project's current challenge #286:

global design project #286
I'm also entering it in the latest The Paper Player's challenge #535:

Here's my entry:

  • This is a square design, the base being 4 1/2" x 4 1/2", in Magenta Madness, one of the 2020 - 2022 In Colours.
  • It's topped with a 4" square in Soft Sea Foam, die cut with a circle in the middle, using the largest of the Layering Circle plain dies and embossed using the retiring Subtle 3D embossing folder.
  • On the Whisper White panel behind (3 3/4" x 3 3/4") I've stamped the leafy branch in Just Jade ink and the tiny squares texture image in Soft Sea Foam.
  • The flower was stamped on a scrap piece of Whisper White in Magenta Madness ink and fussy cut.
  • The feathers were embossed in White Stampin' Emboss Powder on vellum and fussy cut. They were mounted behind the flower with glue dots and the whole piece mounted on the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • The sentiment, also from Tasteful Touches, was embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder on Just Jade cardstock, then cut into strips and mounted on the card front as shown.
  • The final touch was some black sequins left over from a Paper Pumpkin kit.

Tasteful Touches for New at SU Blog Hop

Welcome to our NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who are Hoppin’ with creative paper crafting ideas to share with you. Today we are showcasing the new 2020/2022 In Colours from the 2020 - 2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. I am using the Tasteful Touches bundle to create some cards in all five of the new In Colours so that you can see all of them together!

  • I decided to go with a basic layout and vary the colour and background Designer Paper for each of the cards. Points if you can spot the differences between them!
  • The first two are in Magenta Madness and Misty Moonlight. Those colours are used for the card bases, the ornate background panel created with the Ornate Layers Dies, the backing for the sentiment, created with the Tasteful Labels dies (part of the In Good Taste Suite that I'm featuring), the ribbon and the flower image from Tasteful Touches that I stamped, coloured with the appropriate Stampin' Blends Combo and fussy cut.
  • The background Designer Series Paper is from the In Good Taste collection which is part of this same suite of products. It has a great variety of texture in all the designs and is one of my favourites in the whole Annual Catalogue.
  • I used the Square Vellum Doilies behind the flower image, but cut away the corners. I also used some of the design element images from the Tasteful Touches stamp set to stamp on the DSP, right behind the label in some cases.

  • These two samples feature the 2020-2022 In Colours, Cinnamon Cider and Bumble Bee.  You'll notice a different sentiment with these two and therefore a different backing label. What other differences do you notice? Take a close look at the Bumble Bee ribbon.

  • Now for maybe my favourite of the new In Colours. This one is called Just Jade and it's a perfect shade of green to my way of thinking - not too blue and not too green, but very eye-pleasing and it goes along with so many other colours. Notice the different design of DSP behind it? And the stamping done on it?
Which are your favourites among the new 2020 - 2022 In Colours? Tell me why below.
