Enjoy Life - What's New at SU Blog Hop

I am happy that you are joining us for our blog hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who are Hoppin’ With Exciting Ideas to share with you! Today we will feature products from the Brand New 2018-19 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. I know you will find a lot of wonderful ideas shared among all of us on the team!

The product I chose to highlight is the Enjoy Life stamp set. It's a set inspired by Million Sales Achiever, Connie Fitzgerald, and it really is inspiring, with some awesome sentiments and great silhouette images, which I've been missing from our catalogues lately. Here's what I came up with:

  • The silhouette images in this stamp set include this woman, a cyclist, the background branches you can see stamped off here in Bermuda Bay, the grass and the flowers, the butterflies and a bird. They're all great for stamping in front of a sponged background like I have done.
  • My colour palette includes Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green, Tranquil Tide, with some tiny accents of Bermuda Bay, Grapefruit Grove and Copper.
  • When sponging the backgrounds of the two panels, I used Stamping Sponges, and started sponging off the panel working toward the middle of it, so as to avoid heavy blobs of colour on the cardstock itself. That first blush comes off on the scrap paper before you hit the actual cardstock.

  • A little piece of Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper provides a backdrop for the image and sentiment panels. Isn't that a moving sentiment, by the way??
I hope you enjoyed my design with the Enjoy Life stamp set. Now please hop on over to Mary Trautner's blog to see what she's done with the stamp set, Hand Delivered!

Or try moving back to Pat Ertman's blog for a creation with Rooted in Nature, my favourite set in the new catalogue!

Please take a moment to comment at the bottom of this post and let me know how you liked my projects or ask me a question about the technique used. Don’t forget to scroll back up and keep hoppin’ with us! – Thank you!

Keep Creating!

 2018/19 Annual Catalogue

(Click on cover for PDF of
Annual Catalogue.)
There are so many enticing new products in the new Catalogue that I'm sure your wish list is longer than your arm! And I'm sure you've noticed that prices have increased. Here's a way to get a taste of many of the papers and ribbons for less money! Product shares!
Here's how it works:  I facilitate 4 people buying a variety of, let's say, ribbon, and then I divide the cost between them and split up the product evenly and mail or deliver it to each of them.  They get a greater variety of ribbon for a lower price.
*I can only sell to people who reside in Canada.

The Annual Catalogue Goes Live & Milestone Birthdays for As You See It Challenge #177

Oh, my word! The birthdays in June!! What on earth was going on in October that caused so many to have birthdays during the month of June?? And this year seems to be the year for all the milestone birthdays, too! In the space of 2 weeks we have been invited to 4 birthday parties and 3 of them are milestone birthdays!!

One of them is for a guy, and today's As You See It Challenge #177 is for a masculine card as part of a Collection Challenge, so my Design Team sample is going to be a birthday card for the birthday boy! Here's AYSI's Challenge banner:

You can't get much more masculine than this! To play a Collection Challenge, you card must contain all the elements from the challenge banner. And to pull it all together, I decided to use the layout from LeAnne's sketch for The Paper Players' latest challenge:

The circle can be any shape you want, so I made mine a square to comply with the As You See It Challenge.

Here's my design:

  • The blue card base is the new In Colour, Blueberry Bushel. It has a great masculine look to it, and seems to work well with Sahara Sand, Silver and the darker wood grain from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack, which is the first DSP that I can remember being carried over from one Annual Catalogue to the next! Here is the colour palette I used:
  • I added some Sahara Sand ink to the raised inside of the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Embossing Folder and spritzed a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock with water and added it to the embossing folder, then ran it through. It gave the wood grain definition and visibility.
  • I took a piece of the darkest, most rustic wood textures from the stack of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack and cut it into a 3 3/4" x 2 1/2" piece. I stamped the tree image from Rooted in Nature on it in Versamark Ink and sprinkled White Stampin' Emboss Powder on it. (Don't forget to use your Embossing Buddy on the paper first before stamping.) The embossing powder was set with the Heat Tool. That piece is mounted in the upper left of the wood grain embossed cardstock.
  • I stamped a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock with the watercolour background from Love What You Do stamp set, in Sahara Sand, stamped off once. I then combined the happy SIXTIETH birthday sentiment from the retired Milestone Moments stamp set (I told you I was going to keep this useful set.) on one Clear Block D and stamped it on the background with Versamark ink. Make sure the Sahara Sand ink is dry first and go over it with your embossing buddy before stamping. Sprinkle on the Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set.
  • Die cut with the Layering Square Framellits and die cut a scallop square to fit for a frame from the Blueberry Bushel cardstock.
  • Add some looped Silver Metallic Thread to the back using glue dots and glue down all panels to the card.
  • Stamp the Celebrate sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings on Whisper White. Punch it out using the Classic Label Punch, but then make it shorter by inserting the label ends back in the punch slit and punching again. Do the same to make a slightly larger Blueberry Bushell tag for the background and a full length Silver Foil one. Glue all three together evenly and mount on the card front using Mini-Dimensionals.
