Textured Christmas for As You See It Challenges

The Christmas parties were a great success and a good time was had by all! We played one game where everyone drew the name of a Christmas carol and then had to walk around humming it until they found the other person humming the same tune. When they found each other, they had to sing the song out loud as a duet! Very tuneful! Then we had a Stampin' Up!Colour Word Scramble! And lots of great prizes!

This week, As You See It Challenges has a great sketch by Amanda. I absolutely love this sketch! Simple but with a homespun appeal, and I wanted to do it justice.

Here's what I came up with, a very homespun design to go with the sketch:

Crumb Cake      Early Espresso    Real Red    Whisper White

  • There's nothing more folksy than the combination of Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Real Red, with a little Whisper White doily thrown in for good measure.

  • The Cozy Christmas sentiments fill the bill so nicely with their crafty fonts. This one is stamped on Crumb Cake with Real Red.
  • Texture is a main feature of this card with from the Woodgrain texture on the Real Red panel to the Kraft Corrugated Paper for the Christmas Tree.
  • If I had been smart and ordered the Peaceful Pines bundle, I would have had a framelit to use to die cut a Christmas tree, but that was one set I didn't order this year. Instead, I folded a piece of scrap paper in half, drew one half of a Christmas tree on it, then cut it out and traced the tree image on the back of the corrugated paper. With my Paper Snips, a little cut here, a little snip there, and I had a tree!
