Beautifully Detailed Wedding Cards

I was looking at some products from the Occasions Catalogue that I had but hadn't used yet and I found the lovely Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper sitting untouched. I had to ask myself why and I immediately had all these ideas for using it! I thought it would make gorgeous wedding cards and I could see it paired with foil embossed with the Tufted Dynamic Embossing Folder. Even though the Grapefruit Grove and Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheets from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure are now sold out for good, I still have quite a bit left and I wanted to use it up, but for those of you who didn't manage to get your hands on it, I thought I would also make a sample using Copper Foil Sheets.

Both samples have a Very Vanilla Thick cardstock base and use the Petal Pink side of the Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut paper.

Here's a closed look at both samples:

  • The Tufted Dynamic Embossing Folder really highlights the holographic effects of the Grapefruit Grove Foil sheets. You have to make sure that the foil side of the paper is facing the debossed side of the folder where the pattern indents into the plastic to make sure that the tufts are rounded outwards.
  • It can be a little tricky to adhere the frame of the Beautifully Detailed Laser Cut paper. There aren't many large areas where you can attach a full glue dot. I had to compress or roll some of mine to get them to fit. I also used very tiny dots of Liquid Multipurpose Glue in other areas. I didn't want to use a lot, because runny adhesive can just ruin foil if it gets on it where it will show by accident.
  • The sentiment, from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set, is embossed using Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder on the Petal Pink oval panel, die cut with a die from the Wonderful Floral Framelit Dies. I used some Fast Fuse (retired) to attach it to the card front, but Snail or Glue Dots or Stampin' Dimensionals would work as well.
  • The bow is a Double Finger Bow. (That's the video tutorial I also use to tie one. It's by Cathy Parlitsis.) I used the Petal Pink/Whisper White Variegated Ribbon.

  • The second card varies in the fact that it uses Copper Foil Sheets, instead of the Grapefruit Grove sheets, but you can still purchase them.
  • The laser-cut design is a different pattern so it needed a different treatment. No room for the big bow on this one. Instead, I die cut some foliage pieces out of vellum, using more dies from the Wonderful Floral Framelits. I believe, sadly, that these have also sold out and won't be able to be reordered in time to get them here before the end of the catalogue run.
  • Some Rhinestone jewels embellished this card with a couple on the Copper-embossed sentiment panel and the rest nestled into a few of the junctures between the tufts.
