Frosted Frames and Beautiful Boughs for As You See It Challenges

There are just so many beautiful products in the new Holiday Catalogues, that I can't seem to stop wanting more, even though I'm trying my darnedest to behave myself. Just when I think that I've talked myself out of needing a particular stamp or die set, I'll see something beautiful using it on one sharing site or another and BOOM! Just like that, my self-control has dwindled to nothing!

Well, the Peaceful Boughs Bundle was one set that I had had my eye on since the catalogue first came out, but fiscal concerns kept me from purchasing it in my original pre-order. Then I thought I could live without it until I kept seeing great creations on Pinterest and Demonstrator Sharing sites. I finally had to order it, but I'm not sure if it was by mistake or design, but I only ordered the Beautiful Boughs die set. That may do it for me, I don't know! We'll have to wait and see.

I made this card for As You See It Challenge's Fill In The Blank Challenge #209:

The way that I filled in the blank for this challenge is: My go to die or punch that I use the most often is: The Stitched Rectangles Dies! They are found in the Annual Catalogue and have pretty well replaced the Stitched Shapes dies as my go to set, although not by much.

Here's a close look at my Design Team sample:

  • The Stitched Rectangle die was used for the small copper rectangle. If you look closely you can see the edging of stitches around it. It has also been embossed with the new Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder from the Holiday Catalogue, which gives a stunning effect!!
  • The background paper is from the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper. This DSP has mainly dark rich colours and one side of each sheet has metallic copper highlights.
  • The Beautiful Boughs dies are great for layering and you can make two different sizes of pine cones. I used the large size here. I used Shaded Spruce cardstock and Vellum for the branches.
  • Beautiful Boughs also has a couple of awesome label dies, one of which I used here for the sentiment, which is from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set.

Don't forget about our Designer Series Paper sale during the month of September. Buy 3 packages of DSP and get another package free. The details are below:

  1. I am a fan of all things stitched so I can understand why you are such a fan of the stitched rectangle dies Heather! They frame that hammered copper panel beautifully and it provides and wonderfully shiny and textured background to your pretty pines. A real touch of luxury! Delighted to be joining you on the AYSI team too!!
