Daisies From My Heart for As You See It Challenges

It's time for another As You See It Challenge! And this week, it is a Theme Challenge by our Design Team member, Jan Clothier. The Theme is Love and I really love the inspiration photo she picked for the Challenge banner for this week:

It reminds me of picking daisies as a young girl and pulling off the petals while chanting, "He loves me, he loves me not..." and hoping the last petal would end up with "He loves me!" if you were thinking about your crush while you performed the ritual. Of course, it had very little to do with reality, but, like all similar love rituals, it was fun and hope inspiring! What little rituals did you have to determine if your crush was interested in you romantically? Tell me in the comment section.

I kept the Hearts and Daisies theme for my Design Team sample, using the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper from the new Jan/Jun Mini Catalogue and bringing out both Daisy Punches from the Annual Catalogue.

  • The background DSP is the From My Heart series mentioned above. Its colour palette is Real Red, Flirty Flamingo and White and some of the designs are foiled. This particular design is so busy that I added an oval of Whisper White to mount my daisies on just so they don't get lost.
  • The two daisies are made with the different sized Daisy Punches: the Daisy Punch is the larger one and the Medium Daisy Punch is the smaller one. I punched two of each size from Flirty Flamingo card stock and glued them together, off-setting them to get a fuller looking flower.
  • The centers are made with the 1/2" Circle Punch in Real Red cardstock with an added From My Heart Faceted Gem in Flirty Flamingo or White.
  • The leaves are in Pear Pizzazz cardstock and are punched using the Sprig Punch.
  • The embellishments are 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and the From My Heart Faceted Gems.
  • The sentiment is from the Heartfelt Stamp set and it's stamped in Real Red ink.
Maybe you can carve out some stamping time for yourself this weekend and enter our challenge here.
