There has been so much going on that I have been dying to get to my new products from the Jan/Jun Mini Catalogue to play with them and I finally got the chance yesterday afternoon. I started at the beginning of the catalogue with the From My Heart Suite, which is a Valentine's Day suite and has some pretty "sweet" products in it to have fun with. My card evolved as I played around and this is how it turned out:
- I started with a piece of Shimmery White cardstock and added some Flirty Flamingo ink in a watercolour wash in the background. I dried that with the Heat Tool and tried to figure out where to go from there.
- I determined that two of the sentiments could 'just fit' onto the large hearts on the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper, and also you can punch out these hearts using the scallop heart from the Heart Punch Pack that coordinates with the Heartfelt Stamp Set - where I got my sentiments from. I stamped the Real Red sentiment on the Flirty Flamingo heart and vice versa, then punched them out.
- Where the hearts were going to lie, I stamped two Basic Gray arrows using the arrow image from the stamp set.
- The background paper is gorgeously shiny and is also one of the designs from the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper that goes with this Suite. I mounted it on the Basic Gray cardstock card base. I also cut a matte from Basic Gray for the center panel and mounted the two onto the card front.
- The first heart is added with Glue Glots, while the second with Stampin' Dimensionals. The finishing touch is added with the From My Heart Faceted Gems, attached with a very light touch of glue. I find the Take Your Pick tool very helpful for this job.
And there you are - the first Valentine of the year!!
