I'm enjoying creating the Pop Up Cube cards a lot! In fact, I'm kind of obsessed with them and I saw someone on Pinterest (Tracie St. Louis) had made one with the Whiskey Business stamp set and used some of the more masculine textures from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper and it looked marvellous! I just had to try it myself!
- I used Early Espresso cardstock for my base. You need an 8 1/4" x 8" piece of cardstock, scored at 2", 4", 6" & 8" on the 8 1/4" side and at 2", 4", & 6" on the 8" side. You cut it at the 2" and 4" score line on the 8" side to get the two smaller cubes.
- I used two patterns of the In Good Taste DSP for the patterns on the cubes, wood grain for the outside and a tweed-like fabric for the inside. These pieces are all cut into 1 7/8" squares.
- About 1/2" circles folded in half and mounted on each side of the center corner support the sentiments and images, all from the Whiskey Business stamp set. After colouring the images with Stampin' Blends Combo markers, the images were either fussy cut or the sentiments were die cut using the Tasteful Labels dies. Then they were mounted on these circles to move with the pop up card.
- I noticed that my whiskey decanter was too tall for the card, but when I made the coordinating envelope, it sticks right out of the middle and I added some side ribbons fastened with slides to keep it together, rather than over the middle.
Here is how it fits into it's custom envelope:
