Happy Friday! It's the end of another crazy week in the impossible year of 2020! In our neck of the woods, the woods are on fire! Just what we needed right? It gets so hot and dry here in the summer that it's just a matter of time. This year, so far, the fire is south east of us but close to people we know and love and it's so hard on them, especially in a pandemic to be forced to uproot and evacuate to somewhere that they don't feel safe. And then there's the first responders, who have to work in the dangerous conditions once again. Looking forward to colder weather and snowflakes to cool things down!
And there's a Fill In the Blank Challenge at As You See It Challenges this week. Here's the Challenge Banner:
This was a hard one for me. I think my favourite colour duo changes with the season. In spring and summer, I think Petal Pink and either Gray Granite or Sahara Sand would be my favourite duo. In the autumn, I'd probably go for Copper and either Cajun Craze or Crumb Cake. But I wanted to try out a new bundle I just got called the Snowflake Wishes Bundle and because it's winter, my favourite colour duo would have to be Coastal Cabana and Pool Party (with a neutral neutral like Sahara Sand or White). As I played with all the new dies I got an odd one that cut out a negative space. I decided to make a little shaker panel from that, since I didn't use a full piece of Coastal Cabana, and I wanted to used the Snowflake Splendour Designer Series Paper behind it as well. Anyway, this is what happened:
- Basically, I just played around with the So Many Snowflakes dies, made myself a shaker panel for the front of the card and added a lot of snowflakes and embellishments!
- The sentiment is from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set, which I stamped on an edge and fussy cut out.

Oh Heather, you are so right about 2020 being an impossible year. I'm so sorry you and your friends are having to cope with fires as well as everything else. Sending hugs.
ReplyDeleteYour card is absolutely beautiful with those soft colours and pretty sequins. Vicky x
Thanks, Vicky! And thankfully, the fire is now out or at least fully contained and the evacuees are back home. So all's well that ends well!
