It's that time again - the dreaded Speed Stamping Challenge at As You See It Challenge! Brilliant team member Deborah came up with a perfect theme for a speed challenge, Spring Flowers! It's generic enough that everyone will have lots of options to use, and lovely enough to attract lots of potential speed stampers! That's YOU! At first, I wanted to use the new Flowering Zinnias DSP as an image because it is so vibrant, but one of my team mates beat me to the punch! So it was time for Plan B. I got out my scrap stash and looked through it to see if I had any floral die cuts. And I hit pay dirt! I had several left over Paper Florist die cuts in Poppy Parade, Azure Afternoon and Crumb Cake all ready to use on a card! I also found some leaves in Garden Green and a sentiment that was embossed with white on Basic Black. And I was ready to go!

Here's how a Speed Stamping Challenge works: you can plan your design ahead of time and get out all your supplies and tools, but as soon as you start work on your card or project, cutting paper, stamping an image, cutting with a die or punch, you must start the timer and you have just 10 minutes to complete your card. It doesn't need to be a masterpiece, it just needs to be finished. Some well known short cuts are using a piece of DSP for the main image, using just stamps and ink, and raiding your scrap stash for leftover tidbits from other projects. Here's a closer look at mine:

- I started on a Poppy Parade card base and added a layer of Lighter Than Air DSP in Lemon Lolly, die cut with the largest Perennial Postage die.
- I added all the die cuts from my stash, most from the Paper Florist dies, using Glue Dots and Stampin' Dimensionals.
- I added the sentiment, from the retired Many Messages stamp set and die.
- Finally I added a baker's twine bow in Lemon Lolly, from the Baker's Twine Three Colour Pack, and some Rainbow Adhesive-backed Dots.
And, presto! A card in less than 10 minutes. 8 minutes and 49 seconds to be exact ( which leaves 1 minute 11 seconds left on my 10 minute timer.)
