I'm So Grateful It's Friday!

Happy Friday!  You made it through another week!  Congratulations!  I am currently up in Fort St. James visiting my middle daughter, Kristen and her family.  Kristen is expecting and due any day now.  We are kind of hoping that tomorrow will be the day!  Kris and her husband, David, decided they didn't want to know the gender of the baby until it is born, so we are really looking forward to finding out, so we can go a buy some fun gender specific clothes for the little one.  I will keep you posted!

I'm here to babysit my little grandson, Kesten, when my daughter goes to the hospital, and to help out a bit when baby arrives.  My hubby will drive up when baby arrives and drive me home again. ( I flew up.)

Amanda from As You See It Challenges has another great sketch for us today for Challenge #36:

Those blocks made me think of using my clear mount blocks to stamp some squares of ink right on to the cardstock.  Here's how that technique turned out:

  • I love the brick-like texture that resulted.  I basically pressed the stamp pads right onto the clear mount blocks H and B and stamped them directly to the Very Vanilla cardstock.  I tried spritzing them with water before I stamped, but the result was too watery.  It would be great if I was looking for a watercolour effect, but I wanted the rougher looking texture.
  • The colour palette is Soft Suede, Always Artichoke, So Saffron and Cajun Craze.  I really like these earthy tones all together.  The So Saffron DSP panel is from the I Am Me Collection which is one of the weekly deals this week.
  • The sentiment and the background are both from Chalk Talk.  When they were cut out with the Chalk Talk framelits and the Extra-Large Oval punch, I sponged them with Soft Suede to define the edges. Stampin' Dimensionals popped both up for some variety.

  • I added a small button from the Neutrals Designer Buttons and threaded it with Linen Thread and tied a little bow.  It was added with a glue dot to the card front.
Thanks for dropping by today!  Enjoy your weekend!
