I'm here to babysit my little grandson, Kesten, when my daughter goes to the hospital, and to help out a bit when baby arrives. My hubby will drive up when baby arrives and drive me home again. ( I flew up.)
Amanda from As You See It Challenges has another great sketch for us today for Challenge #36:
Those blocks made me think of using my clear mount blocks to stamp some squares of ink right on to the cardstock. Here's how that technique turned out:
- I love the brick-like texture that resulted. I basically pressed the stamp pads right onto the clear mount blocks H and B and stamped them directly to the Very Vanilla cardstock. I tried spritzing them with water before I stamped, but the result was too watery. It would be great if I was looking for a watercolour effect, but I wanted the rougher looking texture.
- The colour palette is Soft Suede, Always Artichoke, So Saffron and Cajun Craze. I really like these earthy tones all together. The So Saffron DSP panel is from the I Am Me Collection which is one of the weekly deals this week.
- The sentiment and the background are both from Chalk Talk. When they were cut out with the Chalk Talk framelits and the Extra-Large Oval punch, I sponged them with Soft Suede to define the edges. Stampin' Dimensionals popped both up for some variety.
- I added a small button from the Neutrals Designer Buttons and threaded it with Linen Thread and tied a little bow. It was added with a glue dot to the card front.
