MOJO Chalk Talk

I'm having so much fun these days with the colour palettes I'm finding on Pinterest.  I looked for one to use with the Chalk Talk Stamp set for MOJO Monday Challenge #344 this week.  Here's the interesting Challenge Sketch designed by the talented Julee Tilman:

The colour palette I found was a cool and springy one of grays and greens:

And here's the design I came up with:

What it really reminded me of though was the chalkboard in my classroom for sixteen years.  It was green, and although the chalk dust wreaked havoc on my respiratory system and dried my skin out terribly, I still loved writing on it and creating a new chalk picture for every new month!  I think our school was the last in the district to get all white boards.  In fact we went from chalkboards straight to smart boards.

I'm kind of glad I retired before I had to figure those out, but I bet smart boards are really useful in the classroom!

  • The Chalk Talk stamp set is really versatile because it has some beautiful designs, but they can almost all be used as tags, especially when pairing them up with the Chalk Talk framelits! Did you know that you can bundle the two and save 15%?
  • The DSP (Designer Series Paper) in the background is a gorgeous Pistachio Pudding design from the Venetian Romance collection.  That collection will be retiring June 1 along with all the current DSP collections so best order it now if you are interested.  It will only be available while supplies last.
  • The Smoky Slate panel behind the tag is embossed using the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Basic Gray cardstock forms the card base.
  • The little flag was die cut using the Bitty Banners Framelits and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I stamped it in Basic Gray ink.

Here's some good news regarding Paper Pumpkin from Stampin' Up.  Starting with the June order, every one who starts a subscription will be given the current month's Paper Pumpkin kit with a clear mount acrylic block along with it, instead of the old welcome kit (which isn't a good representation of the current high quality of Stampin' Up! products).  And, you can prepay subscriptions either for yourself, or it would make a great last minute gift for a Mom or any crafter!  Here's the deets:
