My Mother for the Paper Players

Yes, Mother's Day is coming up rapidly!  This Sunday, to be exact!  What have you done for your Mom?  Just think what she's gone through for you!  You need to phone her and let her know what she means to you.  After all, she has imparted so much wisdom to you, so much about how the world works, and you may have found yourself echoing the things she taught you to your own children.  Here's a small high speed sample:

I checked off a lot of those myself!!  So all this, because The Paper Players have a challenge this week to honour moms!

When I was designing it, I found a background that I had created, then discarded when I was making this card.  I decided it would be perfect for this challenge and here's how it worked out:

  • Once again, the My Mother Stamp set from the Occasions catalogue, with it's big, bold but feminine sentiment is the perfect balance for the busy background, stamped with the Stippled Blossoms Stamp set.
  • The colours used here are Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi and Pistachio Pudding.  It looks just like a bouquet of roses that I'd love to get from my family! (Hint, hint!)
  • The Crisp Cantaloupe Ruffle Stretch Trim is retiring, and, unfortunately, all sold out, but I couldn't resist the chance to use it one more time as a backing on the oval sentiment panel.  It looks so much better than the oval on it's own.  The Wild Wasabi panel is die cut using the Apothecary Accents framelits, perfect for such a large scale font as this.
  • The Pear Pizzazz 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon is also retiring, as is all the 3/8" Taffeta, which I am sad about, but there is a lot of really nice ribbon in the new Annual catalogue, so I won't be sad for long.
