Kinda Eclectic Million and One

Hola! I'm in my last couple of days of holidays here in Zihuatanejo, Mexico and I wanted to share with you a card I cased from a design I love on Pinterest.  The original is created by Laura Mackie and I didn't change a lot.  I used a different colour, a different cardstock, and a different sentiment, from Million and One. I also added an extra butterfly, but I loved her design so much that I didn't want to change much. The leaves from Kinda Eclectic Stamp set are the only ones that I thought would be effective in this technique!

It involves stamping the same image in the neutral, the colour and Craft White Ink to form a frame!

  • I started by stamping the sentiment from Million and One Stamp set in Sahara Sand ink on Sahara Sand cardstock, then adding the leaf image from Kinda Eclectic, also in Sahara Sand to frame the sentiment.
  • I added the same leaf image in Bermuda Bay and then Whisper White Craft Ink.
  • The butterflies are each stamped twice, once in Bermuda Bay and once in Sahara Sand and punched out using the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches.  They are layered using Glue Dots and added to the card front.
  • The card is layered with a Sahara Sand card base, a Bermuda Bay layer and then the main image panel.  Quick and easy and very effective!  Hope you like it.
I'll return on Thursday with my regular posting schedule!
