There are lots of babies being born right around now! My facebook feed is full of them, not to mention my own new little grandson! So another baby card was a necessity and this one doubles as a design for As You See It's latest challenge! Although the challenge sketch is definitely vintage (and I should be all over that), instead I imagined a panel of Sweet Dreams Designer Series Paper and some baby images and a sentiments!
Here's Amanda's cute design sketch:
Definitely vintage, right? Who knows how my mind works??
- I really love the Sweet Dreams Designer Series Paper. I know it was themed for baby cards but the lovely patterns, textures and colours would work for many different purposes! It's so soft and dreamy looking.
- I used both the Something for Baby stamp set (with its coordinating framelits, Baby's First Framelits) and the new Little Sunshine stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue. The ikat heart and the sentiment are from Little Sunshine, while the little rubber ducky is from Something for Baby.
- I used the Banners Framelit Dies for the sentiment and the 2" and 2 1/2" punches for the circles at the bottom right. The colours you see here are Whisper White, Soft Sky and Hello Honey.
- My nod to vintage was to use an Antique Brad to hold the little snippet of Hello Honey Quilted Cotton Ribbon.
This card is fairly simple to put together, so if you have babies arriving among your family and friends, give this one a try!
