You've Got This for Colour Throwdown

I was visiting with a friend yesterday who has the most beautiful garden. She is a painter and her canvas is soil and her palette is flowers. One of the blooms she had in a vase on the table was a gorgeous yellow rose, and when I decided to do the beautiful Colour Throwdown Challenge #344, I was inspired to do some watercolouring with the image from the new stamp set, You've Got This! Love that set! You're going to want to order it! Just sayin'!

  • I picked Pear Pizzazz for my green, Pink Pirouette for the pastel pink, and So Saffron for the yellow, even though it's a bit darker than the sample. I added a little Daffodil Delight to lighten it up when I was watercolouring.
  • I used White Stampin' Emboss Powder to emboss the outline of the flower and then used an Aquapainter to add the ink to the image. I kept it quite wet and added the colour at the base of the leaves and petals and drew it up to the top of each one. I added a little blush of Pink Pirouette to the top of some of the petals
  • The sentiment is one of three great ones from the same stamp set, You've Got This. I stamped it in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I love the background stamp in this set. It makes a perfect backdrop for any water-coloured image.
  • I used some of the Pear Pizzazz 1/4" Cotton Ribbon to create a little fork bow for a finishing touch on the card.
