Happy Friday! Another stamp set that is retiring from the Stampin' Up!'s 2014/15 Annual Catalogue is Memorable Moments. I decided to use it to make a birthday card for my granddaughter, Cedar's first birthday! The card's layout is inspired by As You See It Challenges' new sketch for today:
The colours I used are Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Whisper White and a retiring In Colour, Coastal Cabana!
- I used the Early Espresso as a narrow matte on many of the panels to give contrast and definition. It also was great for the sentiments.
- I stamped the elephant from Zoo Babies in Crumb Cake ink on the Whisper White panel, but also on the back of a sheet of the Blushing Bride polka dot design from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack (which, by the way, is also retiring, but making way for a new set of designs). I hand snipped the ear out with a little extra flap and added it to the elephant on the Whisper White. The flag made from the DSP backed with Early Espresso is actually passed through 2 vertical slits in the Whisper White panel.
- I used the Memorable Moments set for the '1st' and trimmed it to fit the space. I used part of the Artisan Label punch to get the shapes on the ends. The heart is punched from Coastal Cabana cardstock using one of the Itty Bitty Accents punches.
