This was not the card I was going to make today at all! I was planning something super simple using the Picture Perfect Party DSP and a die cut sentiment! That would have been "Picture Perfect" for my Birthday Buffet class on Saturday. But, always the brilliant one, I must have given away the DSP as a prize at some event or other, because I did not have any of it! Rats! Just one more downer to add to a snow filled weekend. After a lovely week, where the majority of our snow melted and the temperatures were finally warming up, another Arctic front combined with wet Pacific air met up over our area and 15 - 25 cm of snow resulted!! Spring is SUCH a tease! Here's how my hubby and I looked when we saw the view out our window the next day:
That's gobsmacked, by the way! Totally speechless!
Anyway, I improvised and here's what I came up with:
- I used some Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper instead, this one in Calypso Coral with silver speckles that look a little like confetti falling! I backed it with Silver Foil Sheet and added it to a Berry Burst card base.
- Before gluing to the base, I added some 3/8" Silver Metallic Edged Ribbon, topped with some 1/8" Calypso Coral Sheer Ribbon in the middle of it.
- The Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set has a two-step stamping bow, which I stamped in Calypso Coral and Berry Burst for the shadowed accents, and some great sentiments. It was hard to choose, but I finally picked out the obvious "happiest of birthdays to you" and stamped it in Berry Burst ink.
- It was die cut and backed in Berry Burst using dies from the Lots of Labels Framelits, popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals and mounted on the card front. I added some silver sequins to lighten up the look as well as adding some loops of the Silver Metallic Thread on the back of this panel before adhering to the card front.
So it was still fairly easy, but not as easy as I had hoped!
Just a reminder about how awesome Sale-A-Bration can be for you! Just this weekend, I had another person join my team, and already this person is enjoying 20% discounts on all her Stampin' Up! products and will continue to be able to do that until the end of July 2018 as a minimum, even if they make little effort to do anything else! They were able to choose two free stamp sets of any price from any current catalogue during the Sale-A-Bration months. And that's on top of the normal $165 worth of products for only #135. This is a fabulous deal, because depending on the stamp sets chosen, you could be getting another $132 free!
I also just had another Host earn over $115 worth of free Stampin' Up! products as part of my Stamp Club, but you could earn similar rewards by hosting your own Stampin' Up! event. During Sale-A-Bration, Stampin' Up! is throwing in an extra $35 worth of Stampin' Rewards, when your party sales before shipping and tax are above $330. Awesome!
And don't forget, just shopping on your own. When you spend $60 you earn one of the many beautiful Sale-A-Bration rewards from the brochure! I LOVE this time of year! You have until March 31st to take advantage of these offers.
Click on the links below to take you to my On-Line Store, where you can read about, look at, and purchase if you wish, the products used to make this card today.
