Retiring Products Review: Coming Home Bundle

It's been a LONGGGG week and I don't want to spend too long on today's post or I will likely fall asleep in the midst of it. For the rest of the month, I want to alternate showing you sneak peeks from the new Jan/Jun Mini Catalogue which aren't available for sale yet with a review of retiring products which you can still get while supplies last! Today I'm featuring the Coming Home bundle from the Aug/Dec Mini Catalogue.

The Coming Home Bundle was actually a charity fund raiser for Stampin' Up! with $4 from each sale of the stamp set going toward charities devoted to adoption, foster care, and infertility!

The Home Together Dies are now On Sale at 30% off for $32.20, down from $46.00.

This set always looks a little Scandinavian to me, so I decided to make a clean and simple looking Scandinavian-like design:

  • With Crumb Cake as my base and front panel, I used a little Real Red as the backing for the front panel. I find that colour combo really pops.
  • On the front I added a Gold Hoop Embellishment and a Brass Brushed Metallic Cardstock star, die cut with the Stitched Stars dies.
  • I stamped the houses from the Coming Home stamp set with Memento ink and coloured them in with Stampin' Blends Combos in Real Red, Balmy Blue and Daffodil Delight!
  • The houses are die cut and the small one is mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals in front of the larger one.
  • The sentiment is from the Snowman Season stamp set.
We got some surprise news from Stampin' Up! today! It seems like the factory that has made our beloved Whisper White cardstock for years, has had to shut down for good due to COVID. This was a sudden development and not a welcome one for anyone! Stampin' Up! has had to move swiftly to find a replacement and has called it Basic White and here's a comparison of the two:
